Latest CS2 Update Makes Heads Bigger: New Big Head Mode Arrives In-Game
Just over a month after the introduction of a new game mode, the latest CS2 update brings another fun addition to the game — Big Head Mode.
Acting as a modifier for Casual, it adds a layer of excitement to the game and underlines Valve devs’ efforts to make CS2 more enjoyable for the casual player base.
Everything We Know About the New CS2 Big Head Mode
The Big Head Mode is Casual with an “Active Mutator.” This mutator affects the head size of the player model. According to community findings, the size of the heads is proportional to the KD ratio.

After starting at a normal size, the head grows larger if K/D goes up, and smaller if K/D goes down. The player's voice is also modulated depending on the size of the head: the bigger the head, the deeper the voice.
This adds another layer of fun to the existing game mode, prompting more players to return. With the mode added as part of the group mutator, it won’t be a surprise if the devs add more mutators to other casual map pools.
New CS Weapon: LAR
The previously leaked Sniper Rifle is now named LAR in the game files, suggesting the weapon’s imminent release. The M14-based weapon was found in game files after the September 22 update, with the community excited for its release.
The update also brings a toggle/hold setting for Silent reload and multiple QoL changes. You can read the full patch notes [here].
