Kyedae returns to Competitive VALORANT, meL and Sarah to Coach
The first VALORANT Open Qualifiers of the Americas region kick off on November 5, with plenty of exciting teams competing for a spot at VCT 2027 Americas Kickoff.
Among them is Teevee, featuring Kyedae, coached by two-time Game Changers Championship winners Melanie "meL" Hoi-San Man and Sarah "sarah" Simpson.
Kyedae Makes Her Competitive Return
In 2023, Twitch streamer Kyedae joined Disguised's Game Changers roster, marking the beginning of her competitive career. However, she eventually stepped away from competition following her diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia, a type of cancer.
Two years later, she joined Teevee, making her return to the Game Changers North American scene. Midway through the season, Kyedae announced a break from streaming to focus on her health. She was later moved to Teevee's inactive roster.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, she also revealed that she was facing further health complications, including endometriosis.
After a year away from competition, Kyedae is finally making her return to the scene, continuing her journey with Teevee in the first VCT 2027 North America Open Qualifiers.
MeL and Sarah to Coach Teevee
One of the biggest surprises surrounding Teevee's participation in the Open Qualifiers was the addition of meL and sarahfrags as the team's coaches. The two-time Game Changers Championship winners will guide the team throughout the tournament.
In an X post, meL revealed that the team had not practiced together beforehand, explaining that their participation is mainly about having fun together and making the most of the experience.
The cat is out of the bag!! I'll be coaching teevee in OQ1 for content alongside sarahfrags. Everything will be streamed starting at 2pm EST Nov 5. We have no prac and this is purely for fun- nonetheless very excited to see what we can do :)

Both meL and Sarah have been away from competition after taking a break from professional play.
The Open Qualifier kicks off on November 5, with the top two teams earning a spot at Red Bull Home Ground 2026.
The winner will also secure direct qualification for VCT 2027 Americas Kickoff, while the runner-up will have another chance to qualify through the Last Chance Qualifier.
