BIG have removed Fatih "gob b" Dayik as the team’s head coach ahead of IEM Dallas. Assistant coach Alexander "kakafu" Szymanczyk will be taking over the role.

The German sixth man has been waving the BIG flag proudly since 2017. In fact, he was one its first members and represented the organization on the international stage as a player then coach.

As a player, “gob b” attended four Majors and made playoffs twice at PGL Major Krakow 2017 and FACEIT Major 2018. Although he made the switch to Valorant back in 2020, he eventually returned to BIG as the head coach two years later to win the Roobet Cup 2022; his only title with the team since then.

Since his tenure began, BIG has failed to meet expectations with shaky results across the board. Consequently, the team made a number of rosters moves this year, yet it all was in vain without any progress.

According to the organization, the decision came after the ESL Pro League. Where the team exited the tournament from the round of 16, following their loss against G2 Esports.

"Following a decision by the organization, gob b is stepping down from the role of head coach," the organization's statement reads. "The decision was made after the ESL Pro League. In the meantime, kakafu will take over his position. We appreciate all your hard work and the impact you had on BIG since 2017." - BIG statement on X.

In his words, “gob b” succeeded in achieving their goal at EPL, and had further plans. But received the shocking news, as the change initiated by the majority of the players.

Our last goal was the EPL playoffs, which we achieved. With this knowledge, I was of course already working on further plans and analyses and was accordingly shocked when this change was initiated by the majority of the players. - gob b on X.

This marks the end of a long relationship between the two parties. And although Fatih will take some time to process his feelings and recover, we hope to see him back with a new team soon.
