At VCT Pacific Week 5, Global Esports met Paper Rex in a best of three series. Unfortunately ,after the back and forth battle, Global Esports lost to Paper Rex. After the game, Strafe had an opportunity to interview Global Esports’ Kim “t3xture” Na-Ra. In an exclusive one-on-one interview GES t3xture talks about the game, transitioning to a new role and more.

Q. It was a great game, but what do you think is going wrong? Why does GES have trouble closing the games?

GES t3xture: “After the win last week, we felt a little relaxed so we didn’t do what we always do, So that is it”

Q. Is the integration of new players a reason for the GES loss?

GES t3xture: “I don’t think that’s an issue. It’s just the atmosphere during the game was different today”

Q. With a single win under the banner, GES will have to win all the games moving forward. What do you think the team needs to address moving forward?

GES t3xture: “We need to know where to focus while attacking and ensuring we play the game on our own tempo”

Q. How is it transitioning to Killjoy?

GES t3xture: “It was a sudden change but instead of thinking about the change. I just think about what I can do in the current situation. If the team needs to play Killjoy I’d do it. If the team needs something else I’d do that as well”

Q. You played the new role exceptionally well. Do you think playing Jett helped you counter opposing Jetts?

GES t3xture: “For Killjoy, I learned looking at the past Killjoys. The experience I had as a pro accumulated in the new role I played. So I feel confident with my plays.”

Q. Bind would return to the competitive map pool next week, with Icebox leaving. What are your thoughts on the change?

GES t3xture: “I haven’t thought about this but Bind is my personal favorite map, So I think I am gonna play it well”

Q. Do you think Riot should make changes mid season?

GES t3xture: “I will adapt to any changes that happen so it does not matter to me”

Q. You’d face GenG next week. What are your thoughts on the matchup?

GES t3xture: “Of Course GenG is a really good team and it’ll be crucial for us to figure out how they move in game and then counter them”

Q. You have played GenG in the Korea Challengers. Does that experience help counter the team?

GES t3xture: “It depends, We gotta read how they move and we’d be ready for them.”

Global Esports face GenG next. GenG are currently the second ranked team in the Pacific. After today’s loss, Global Esports are five losses down and cannot afford to lose another series. The game against GenG will be a tough one and a crucial one.
