After the thriller that was Leviathan vs. Trace Esports, VALORANT Champions 2024 Day 6 followed another Americas vs. China fixture in the G2 Esports - EDward Gaming series.

The Americas #2, G2 Esports, was tasked with stopping the ZmjjKk starrer EDward Gaming, the China #1. While G2 Esports were clear favorites when the day started. The upset earlier definitely had people swaying to EDG’s side.

The swaying only amplified as EDward Gaming took Icebox, a map G2 Esports has dominated. But G2 Esports stayed strong, closed Haven after a close game and absolutely dominated Bind to take the series 2-1.

Talking about the difficulties faced while facing G2 Esports, EDG ZmjjKk explained:

“G2 has a very distinct style, especially on the tactical side. Their ability to change tempo from slow to fast really challenged us, and I think that was the hardest part to adapt to during the game.”

Adding to this, ZmjjKk also mentions how their changed approach costed them the series:

“When we took the lead, we became too eager to secure the next points. Everyone, including myself, was in too much of a hurry, which affected our actions and performance. We need to stay calm and focused.”

This was also something Head coach Muggle talks about as an area to improve ahead of their next game:

“ I think we should focus on keeping our mentality stable when we get a lead and remember how we secured key points. We should not let failed attempts disrupt our strategy.”

EDward Gaming will now await the results of Paper Rex - FUT Esports game. G2 Esports have now qualified for the Playoffs and will play after August 14th in the VALORANT Champions 2024 playoffs.

Starting Champions Seoul action will feature elimination games, starting with Sentinels taking on FunPlus Phoenix.

Is VALORANT Crossplay? PC, PS5, Xbox & Mobile Explained (2026)

VALORANT does not offer crossplay between PC and console. This means that PC players can only match and play against other PC players, and console players (PS5 and Xbox) players can only match and play against other console players. While there is no crossplay in VALORANT, the game does support cross progression, which means that your account, skins, and any other form of progress carry from one platform to the other (from PC to console, and vice versa).
