Fnatic Dominates Europe with Second VCT EMEA Playoffs Victory

Fnatic clinched the VCT EMEA Stage 2 title in a thrilling grand final against Team Vitality. The match, held in front of an electrified audience in Berlin, saw Fnatic secure their victory in a best-of-five series. With their team's convincing win, Fnatic solidify their reputation as one of the premier teams in the region.

Fnatic's engines are all warmed up

Fnatic's journey through the VCT EMEA Stage 2 playoffs was nothing short of spectacular. After a rocky start to the year and missing out on Masters Madrid, they bounced back with a vengeance. Fnatic dominated the playoffs bracket, losing only two maps throughout the entire playoffs stage. Their first map loss came against Karmine Corp in the first round and the second was to Team Vitality.

The grand finals was a rollercoaster of emotions. Fnatic kicked off with a win on Haven (13-8), setting the tone for the series. However, Vitality struck back on Ascent (9-13), handing Fnatic only their second map loss in the playoffs.

Fnatic quickly regained control on Lotus (13-9) and sealed their victory with a commanding performance on Bind (13-3), demonstrating their strategic prowess and resilience.

Fnatic’s roster was in top form, with standout performances from Emir "Alfajer" Beder and Timofey "Chronicle" Khromov. The two players combined for 143 kills across 4 maps of play. Alfajer was especially instrumental in the team’s victories, delivering consistent frags and clutch plays. Jake "Boaster" Howlett’s leadership and versatility were also on full display, guiding the team through high-pressure situations.

In the post-match interview, Chronicle reflected on their achievements: “Jake [Boaster] said before this year started that we were going to win three trophies. We’ve already won two out of three—Stage 1 and Stage 2. Now, Champs are coming.”

A significant win for Fnatic

This victory marks Fnatic’s second regional trophy in the franchising era, making them the first team in EMEA to win back-to-back tournaments. It’s a testament to their strategic depth, individual skill, and adaptability.

The win is also significant for substitute Emirhan "hiro" Kat, who joined the team mid-season in Stage 2, stepping in for Leo "Leo" Jannesson.

Fnatic's triumph secures their place at VCT Champions in Seoul, South Korea as EMEA's first seed. Joining them in Seoul will be Team Vitality, Team Heretics, and FUT Esports. The grand event will be held at the COEX Artium and INSPIRE Arena, where the world’s best teams will compete for the ultimate title. EMEA will be looking to bring home their second Champions trophy after Acend won the tournament in 2021.

Fnatic’s back-to-back wins underscore their dominance in the EMEA region and sets high expectations for their performance at Champions. As the team prepares for the next challenge, fans and analysts alike are eager to see if they can complete Boaster’s prophecy and claim their third trophy of the year.
