Faker has recently spoken out against the persistent DDoS attacks that have plagued his team for over half a year. These attacks disrupted T1's practices, streaming schedules, and overall performance, raising serious concerns about the integrity and future of competitive esports.

Faker's statement on DDoS attacks

In a recent episode of T1's series, "The Trophy Room", Faker addressed the impact of the DDoS attacks on his team:

"Online streams and personal attacks still remain, and it’s crucial for these concerns to be addressed"

He warned that if these issues are not resolved, they could gradually undermine the value of esports. Despite these challenges, Faker stressed that the team's focus remains on performing their best under the current circumstances.

The impact of the attacks on T1

The DDoS attacks have had a significant impact on T1's operations. Head coach kkOma revealed that the attacks have disrupted practice sessions and scrims:

"During one of our scrims, our entire IP network was attacked, preventing us from practicing, this disruption has affected the players' conditions and caused significant personal stress."

Another coach, Roach, stated that the continuous disconnections during games have been a source of stress for the players. The attacks have also forced T1 to cancel streams, impacting their ability to engage with fans and generate revenue.

Riot Games' response

Riot Games has acknowledged the severity of the attacks and has been working with T1 to address the issue. Riot's Head of LoL, Riot Meddler, provided an update on the situation, stating:

"We’re working in close collaboration with T1 to create a safe environment for gameplay and streaming."

Despite their efforts, the attacks have evolved, and new solutions are being sought to mitigate the problem.

Battle lost, war continues...§

Faker's outcry against the DDoS attacks on T1 highlights the challenges the team continue to face and the broader impact on esports as a whole. While Riot Games continue to work on resolving the issue, the ongoing disruptions underscore the importance of robust cybersecurity measures to protect competitive gaming. The persistence of these attacks poses a threat not only to T1 but also to the integrity of the esports industry as a whole.
