Evil Geniuses (EG) has just announced that their participation in the upcoming SEN City Classic tournament comes with a twist— they will be fielding a temporary roster for the event. While the inclusion of the players in the announcement bring excitement, the "temporary" nature of this roster raises eyebrows as the 2025 competitive season approaches.

Tournament Details

The SEN City Classic will see four North-American teams in attendance, including Cloud9 (C9), NRG, Sentinels and, of course, Evil Geniuses. With a prize pool of $20,000 on the line, money is not the main goal for participating in this event, but will surely be an extra incentive. Matches will be played in a best-of-three format, ensuring a thrilling experience for players and fans.

Tickets for the event are available for purchase through the Sen Society, allowing fans to support their favorite teams in person.

A temporary roster this late in preparation?

Here is the current Evil Geniuses roster for Sen City Classic:

  • Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker
  • Tyler "sym" Porter
  • Derrek "Derrek" Ha
  • Phat "supamen" Le
  • Nicholas "NaturE" Garrison
  • Christine "potter" Chi (Head Coach)
  • Phong "pho" Le (Assistant Coach)

While Evil Geniuses has put together a formidable lineup for the SEN City Classic, the announcement of a temporary roster has sparked discussions. As the 2025 season looms closer, teams need to finalize their rosters to prepare for the intense competition ahead. This raises the question: how “temporary” is this roster?

The current landscape of esports also demands stability and coherence as teams strategize and build synergy for the upcoming season. The fact that EG is relying on a temporary roster could suggest ongoing challenges in solidifying their core team, leaving fans wondering about the team's direction in the months to come.

Or, if we want to be optimistic and aim for the stars, this "temporary" roster is actually their final squad going into 2025, only lacking some final adjustments and deals to make it official.

Looking Ahead

The SEN City Classic promises to be an amazing event where fans will undoubtedly be eager to see how Evil Geniuses performs with this lineup. However, the current level of uncertainty will make many wonder about the team's future.

Whether this Evil Geniuses roster is temporary or not, one thing is certain: the upcoming tournament will be one to watch as teams fight for supremacy and prepare for the 2025 season.
