Now that we’ve shared our thoughts on the biggest winners and losers in Dota 2 Patch 7.39d, let’s take a look at how things have shifted in pubs. We’ll review the stats to see which heroes are achieving better results and which ones are gaining popularity now that the update has settled in.

Since there are no major tournaments before The International 2025, this also serves as an adjustment to our tournament expectations. Heroes that stand out could become prime ban targets — or the ones that consistently slip through drafts to be contested.

Let's take a look at the changes in the meta after Dota 2 Patch 7.39d.

Biggest Win Rate Increases

Starting off, here’s the Top 5 heroes with the largest win rate increases in the Immortal bracket. From fifth place upward, we have:

The increases range from +2.86% to +3.78%, and while most received minor buffs, Troll Warlord and Outworld Destroyer actually had no changes in Patch 7.39d.

As shown in the chart, all of these heroes are currently considered Tier B or C in the meta. That said, Bounty Hunter had been a strong position 4 support not too long ago and could be making a comeback. Meanwhile, Outworld Destroyer enjoyed a notable win rate bump and may reappear in mid lane.

Pick Rate Increases

As expected after Patch 7.39d, Skywrath Mage was the only hero with a significant surge in interest. His pick rate jumped by +1.51%, but he still failed to break the 50% win rate mark over the last week. He’s the sole intelligence hero at the top of the list, followed by a lineup dominated by agility carries.

Aside from Marci, Pugna, and Legion Commander, every other hero on the list is an agility carry. And yes — this includes Hoodwink as a carry pick, which is apparently a thing. With a +2.05% win rate increase, I’d say this new approach is working for her so far.

S Tier Heroes to Watch

Looking strictly at win rate data, the best S Tier heroes after Dota 2 Patch 7.39d was released are Dazzle, Silencer, and Leshrac. While Silencer and Leshrac only had marginal win rate gains, Dazzle jumped by an impressive +2.49%, putting him in 8th place overall by win rate. This opens up a lot of possibilities for the evolving meta.

Despite nerfs to Shadow Wave’s mana cost and to his innate ability, Dazzle actually performed better in Immortal pubs. This might seem counterintuitive, but it could mean he’s a solid counter to current meta heroes — or simply that he benefitted from the influx of returning players drawn in by Quartero’s Curios.

Final Thoughts

That wraps up our metagame snapshot. Remember, this data only reflects the last week, and the meta is constantly shifting. If you want to stay updated on Dota 2 Patch 7.39d’s biggest winners, losers, and grind-worthy heroes, check out the news section on the Strafe website!
