A shock was sent through the LPL when the news first hit that Ninjas in Pyjamas would be bringing star mid laner and former Worlds Champion Kim "Doinb" Tae-sang out of retirement. Now, after the conclusion of his first split back, Doinb has been named LPL MVP after leading his team to a first place finish in Group D of the Split 1 Regular Season.

The new and improved NIP took the LPL by storm during Split 1, finishing their group with a 9-1 scoreline: the best in the LPL. If the team's resurgence has been marvelous to witness, though, that is largely thanks to Doinb.

After more than two years away from the competitive League of Legends scene, Doin returned to the LPL and immediately proved everyone he hadn't skipped a beat. Not only was Doinb's staggering 8.73 KDA the highest out of all mid laners in the LPL, but it was also done in true Doinb style with several carry performances coming off the back of unconventional mid lane picks like Pantheon, or even Lee Sin.

After winning Worlds all the way back in 2019, Doinb continues to prove you don't need to stick to the meta to win games on the biggest stage. Truly, a worthy winner of the LPL Split 1 MVP.
