After the region locked multiple game Changer events around the world, Riot finally announced the inaugural Valorant Game Changers Championship on 15th June. Eight teams across the regions will battle in Berlin for the title of the first Valorant Game Changers Champion.

The tournament will start on 15th November and will be a LAN event at the LEC studio in Berlin. The last three days of the event will feature a live audience. With the limited seating, The tickets for the live event are sold out.

What exactly is Valorant Game Changers?

[youtube url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJ5OJY18qzE"]

Valorant Game Changers is a Riot initiative to supplement new opportunities and exposure to women and marginalized genders within Valorant. It is a way for Riot to be more inclusive and create an ecosystem where esports for women and marginalized gender flourish without facing social stigma and help them showcase their talent on the big stage.

The initiative itself is a step in the right direction. While there have been events for CS: GO for Women, the consistency and support for the event could have been better which led to its failure.

With the plethora of events, the Game Changers initiative has already led to many Valorant Giants like Cloud9 White from North America, G2 Gozen, and Guild X from Europe. And the players have been amassing popularity throughout the world. Proof of this has to be the tickets selling out in a short time for Valorant Game Changers Championship.

Valorant Game Changers Championship 2022 Format:

The first and inaugural Valorant Game Changers Championship will feature eight teams 2 NA, 2 EU, 1 BR, 1 LATAM, 1 APAC, and 1 East Asia. The qualification was region dependent.

VCT GC teams

The teams participating in Valorant Game Changers Championships are:

  • Cloud9 White (VCT GC NA III)
  • Shopify Rebellion GC (NA circuit points)
  • Guild X (VCT GC EMEA III)
  • G2 Gozen ( GC EMEA Circuit points)
  • Team Liquid Brazil (BR Circuit Points)
  • KRU Fem (LATAM GC Regional Final)
  • X10 Sapphire (APAC Elite)
  • Fennel GC (East Asia Qualifiers)

Amongst all the teams, it'd be interesting to see the unbeaten NA Champions, Cloud9 White taking on Challengers from other regions. Liquid Brazil also has been unbeaten in their region. While the tournament will also follow the classic EU vs. NA debate, The Asian Valorant also is considered strong, and it'd be interesting to see the teams brawl on LAN.

Draws will place the eight teams in the double-elimination bracket. The team has to win four games in a row to be crowned the first Valorant Game Changer Champion.

Schedule, Live event, and location:

The tournament will start on 15th November at the LEC studio, 12489 Berlin.

Schedule of Valorant Game Changers Championship:

  • 15th November: Top Bracket Games
  • 16th November: Top Bracket Games
  • 17th November: Losers Bracket R1
  • 18th November: Losers Bracket R2 & Winners Bracket Finals
  • 19th November: Loser Bracket Semifinals & Lower Bracket Finals
  • 20th November: Grand Finals

The last three days of the competition will feature a live audience and timings similar to the VCT Masters Games. The tickets for the live audience are already sold out, while Riot has yet to announce plans for the increased audience. You can read more about the live event here.

The firsts are always memorable, and the Valorant Game Changers Championship will be a blast where we'd crown the first Game Changers Champion.
