Cloud9 has reportedly given Edward "Tactical" Ra permission to explore opportunities with other teams ahead of the 2027 League of Legends season. The North American organization is considering changes at ADC, even after Tactical earned the starting role during the second half of 2026.

The news was reported on Sunday, November 8, by Sheep Esports, in an article by journalists Sander "LCS Eevee" Hove and Brieuc "LEC Wooloo" Seeger. However, permission to explore options does not mean Tactical is leaving Cloud9. No transfer has been confirmed.

Tactical Remains Under Contract With Cloud9 Until 2028

According to the report, Tactical is under contract with Cloud9 until November 20, 2028, but has been given permission to consider offers from other organizations ahead of the 2027 season.

That means the ADC can hold talks with other teams while his current contract remains in place. Sheep Esports did not identify any potential destinations or report advanced transfer negotiations involving Tactical.

Meanwhile, Cloud9 is reportedly looking at other options for the ADC position. The organization has not officially announced Tactical's departure or a replacement.

From NACL Champion to Cloud9's Return to Worlds

Tactical joined Cloud9 on June 25, 2026, after winning the North American Challengers League (NACL) with Conviction. His arrival was part of a series of roster changes as the organization looked to end its run of unsuccessful attempts to qualify for international tournaments.

Initially, Tactical was expected to share the ADC position with Jesper "Zven" Svenningsen. However, he eventually secured the starting spot, while Lee "Loki" Sang-min took over in mid lane from Eain "APA" Stearns.

The revamped roster helped Cloud9 finish third in the 2026 LCS Split 2 and return to Worlds after missing the previous two editions. The team reached the lower bracket final of the playoffs but lost 3-1 to LYON on October 3, bringing its domestic campaign to an end.

Cloud9's international run, however, was short-lived. On October 16, the team fell 3-1 to Brazilian side FURIA in the Worlds 2026 Play-In Stage, becoming the first team eliminated from the tournament.

The early exit came just months after the roster overhaul that had helped Cloud9 return to the World Championship. Now, the organization could make further changes to its bot lane ahead of next season.

Cloud9 Considering Other Bot Lane Options for 2027

Tactical's situation comes amid further changes to Cloud9's roster. In October, Sheep Esports had already reported that Zven and APA were set to leave after losing their starting positions.

In its latest report, the outlet states that both players' contracts have since been terminated. That leaves Tactical as the main remaining ADC under contract with the organization, although his future is now uncertain as well.

The North American market could offer several alternatives. According to Sheep Esports, players such as Sajed "sajed" Ziade, Kim "Berserker" Min-cheol, Fahad "Massu" Abdulmalek, and Sean "Yeon" Sung are all approaching the end of their respective contracts.

That does not mean any of them are in talks with Cloud9. So far, there is no confirmed information about who the organization plans to sign or which teams might be interested in Tactical.

For now, Tactical remains under contract with Cloud9 as the organization weighs its options for 2027.
