Treyarch has announced the contents of the next major update for Call of Duty Black Ops 6. The newest addition to the franchise is just over 2 months old but has already recorded the highest engagement of any Call of Duty game in its first 30 days from launch. With this latest update, the Call of Duty franchise returns with yet another crossover - Squid Game. The collaboration with the hit Netflix series will feature new limited-time game modes, weapon blueprints, operator skins, and more reportedly.

Call of Duty X Squid Game

Crossovers are nothing new in the modern day Call of Duty sphere. Over the years, the franchise has done some of the most notable crossovers with other franchises and cultural phenomena - such as FIFA, Lara Croft, and The Boys. Hence, with the global success of Squid Game Season 2, it came as little surprise that there would be at least one game studio looking to capitalize on the popularity.

Set to release on the 3rd of January, the teaser trailer revealed that the collaboration event will include Squid Game-themed operator skins, limited-time game modes (the famous game Red Light, Green Light was featured prominently in the trailer), and weapon blueprints - all as part of the Season 1 mid-season refresh as outlined by the developers.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Mid-Season Update

The mid-season refresh is planned as a massive one, with both 2XP (Double XP) and 2WXP (2x Weapon XP) enabled until the 3rd of January, allowing players to level their accounts and gear in preparation for the new surge of content.

Both Multiplayer and Zombies game modes will also be seeing new modes along with several improvements and changes coming to both game modes.

Stay tuned for further updates on the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Mid-Season update.
