In the highly anticipated move of the 2023 VALORANT off-season, the VCT Americas 2023 MVP, Erick "Aspas"Santos, has made a significant decision regarding his team for the upcoming season.

A Bold Move

After spending almost a month in Free Agency, the star duelist and former champion has officially signed with Leviatán. Thus marking a pivotal shift in his career since joining LOUD in early 2022. This move, initially reported by blix.gg in late September, has now materialized into an official signing. Aspas's addition to Leviatán represents a significant development, as he is both the biggest name to join the organization since its formation and the first Brazilian player to join the Argentinian and Chilean-run team.

Transition to Leviatán

While the previous season proved to be challenging for LOUD, Aspas and his team maintained regional dominance. They finished second in LOCK//IN Sao Paulo, and won the regional VCT Americas League. As Aspas's contract came to an end, fans anticipated changes. Despite rumors of interest from major teams like NRG or BLEED, Aspas opted for Leviatán.

Leviatán, coming off a rollercoaster season, aims to regain stability and elevate their gameplay. Aspas, with his remarkable skills, will contribute significantly. The challenge for many teams making big moves this off-season is ensuring that the new additions synergize effectively, and time will tell if this works for Leviatán.

Staying Close to Home

Aspas's choice to stay in his original VALORANT region and on his original continent eliminates any significant language barrier concerns. Instead, he faces the challenge of adapting to Jett's nerfs and building chemistry with his new teammates as he looks to defend his MVP title heading into the 2024 season and beyond.
