Brazilian CS star André "arT" Piovezan, renowned for being an aggressive and unpredictable player, took to a livestream to share his thoughts after being benched from the FURIA Esports Counter-Strike team. In a candid, emotional and very honest moment, arT opened up about various challenges and frustrations he faced during his time with the team.

The livestream, which captured the attention of the CS community, shed light on arT's experiences, including restrictions on personal life and the dynamics within the team. Here are some key highlights from his heartfelt address, compiled by "Fer da Depre" account and shared with us.

arT's personal sacrifices and restrictions

The ex-FURIA player revealed the sacrifices he made for the team, including being prohibited from bringing his girlfriend to tournaments and enduring long periods without seeing his loved ones. He expressed frustration at the limitations imposed on his social life, such as restrictions on drinking and smoking.

They wanted to remove me from the team because we were prohibited from taking women to the championship. I couldn't see my girlfriend. I spent over a year without seeing my mother and spent nine months without seeing my girlfriend.

Pressure and expectations from being a leader

The Brazilian player reflected on the pressure to maintain a positive attitude and leadership role within the team. He described feeling constrained by expectations to refrain from complaining or showing frustration during matches, highlighting the toll it took on his mental well-being.

Complaining was what I heard the most every day. "Art, you have to be a better athlete. You have to be a leader. You can't complain. You can't complain in the middle of the round. You can't be a liability to kids. You have to be upbeat all the time".

Team dynamics and player relationships

arT provided insights into the team dynamics and the challenges faced by individual players, including himself and his former teammate Henrique "HEN1" Teles. He spoke highly of HEN1 as a teammate and lamented the circumstances that led to his departure from the team.

We brought the best AWPer in the region, it was Henrique. And to this day he is still the best AWPer. We did what we had to do there.

We won what we had to win. We played what we had to play. And then it happened, Henrique's tragic departure. For the mistakes he made. Having woken up late. Having slept little.

Which somewhat hampered his performance within the server. And he had to improve. But he didn't deserve to be kicked because of that. He deserved more space to evolve.

We needed it. We needed him. If you remove Henrique, who will you put as your team's AWP? You don't have anyone to put it.

Struggles with performance and team composition

The livestream delved into arT's perspective on team composition and the need for firepower in competitive play. He discussed the decision-making process behind roster changes and expressed regret over certain strategic decisions that may have impacted the team's performance.

We wanted to bring a guy with impact. We needed firepower, but Guerri went to the Academy squad and said that they talk very well about Drop.

He's a very complete player, he does a lot of things but he didn't have a high impact. So I said to Guerri, I think Drop won't fit well. We need firepower.

I don't need any more support, I need firepower. I don't need entry, I have Vini and arT. Drop is very good, okay? He was one of the best teammates I had. He did what he had to do.

Looking to the future

Despite the disappointment of the benching, arT expressed gratitude for his time with FURIA Esports and his teammates. He firstly acknowledged the support of fans and expressed hope for the future, emphasizing the importance of personal growth and new opportunities.

arT's livestream undoubtedly provided a rare glimpse into the inner workings of a professional esports team and the personal struggles faced by its players. His candid reflections firstly underscored the complexities of competitive gaming and the sacrifices often required to succeed at the highest level. As arT navigates this new chapter in his career, fans undoubtedly await his next move and continue to support him on his journey in the world of Counter-Strike.
