Vayne: Backstory and Lore

Raised as the only child to a wealthy Demacian couple, Shauna Vayne enjoyed an upbringing of privilege. Shortly after her 16th birthday, Vayne returned from a midsummer banquet to find a beautiful, horned woman standing over the corpses of her parents. 

The demon smiled then vanished when she saw Vayne. From then on, Vayne's heart filled with hatred. Knowing that even Demacia's tall walls couldn't keep dark magic out completely, she dedicated herself to learning everything she could about dark magic: how to track it, how to stop it, and how to kill those who practiced it. 

To do so, she travelled to the Freljord, and learned from a hunter called Frey. Vayne and Frey snuck back into Demacia, where they spent the next few years training at the former's estate. Despite the multitude of suitors, Vayne only had interest in training with Frey and the two got extremely close. 

At the age of 18, Vayne slew her first monster, a bloodthirsty creature that had been preying on travelling merchants. As Vayne and Frey traveled around Valorant, they heard tales of the demonic horned creature of mesmerizing beauty (Evelynn) that had formed a cult. 

When they came across one of Evelynn's priests, Vayne was injured. Leaping to save her friend, Frey transformed into a monstrous Freljordian wolf. After saving Vayne, Frey revealed that she had made a curse pact to gain the power to combat monsters. 

Vayne put an arrow in her. Feeling betrayed, she walked away and never looked back. Now, she continues to track Evelynn, hoping to drive an arrow in the demon's heart.

Night Hunter (Passive)

Night Hunter grants bonus movement speed when moving toward a visible enemy champion. This speed bonus triples under Final Hour. It helps Vayne chase targets effectively, but it also requires her to maintain vision on enemies.

Tumble

Tumble is a short dash that empowers the next basic attack. It resets the basic attack timer, providing strong burst potential.
