Following their elimination from IEM Dallas, Virtus.Pro “relieves” their CS2 head coach Dastan "dastan" Akbayev from his duties.

The update came shortly after losing to BIG in the Group B lower bracket semi-final. In effect, the team’s analyst Pavel "PASHANOJ" Legostaev will step up to the coaching role at the upcoming tournament: BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2024.

Virtus.Pro, despite fielding one of CIS’s best Denis "electroNic" Sharipov “struggled” in the past couple of events. Namely, ESL Pro League Season 19, BetBoom Dacha Belgrade and now IEM Dallas. Undoubtedly, the organization had to take action with unsatisfactory results across the board.

Moreover, “dastan” started his journey with the organization in late 2019, after pushing AVANGAR to the spotlight with a win at BLAST Pro series Moscow 2019, two months prior to his signing. Since then, the Kazakh lifted four trophies with the polar bears including a Major title at IEM Rio Major 2022.

As mentioned previously, Virtus.Pro will take part in BLAST Premier Spring Finals starting the 12th of June in London. Although under a new temporary coach, anticipation is filling the air to see how they’ll perform at the OVO Arena Wembley.

CS2 Major Revenue Share Changes Are Pushing Organizations Away from Counter-Strike

Valve’s new CS2 Major revenue share ties sticker income to VRS and final placement, removing capsule‑style payouts and concentrating money among top finishers. The result: higher volatility for clubs that relied on sticker cheques, early roster cuts like Gaimin Gladiators, and a narrower field of sustainable CS2 organizations unless the payout model changes.
