VALORANT to Introduce Replay System in September 2025
With the upcoming 5-year anniversary for VALORANT approaching, Riot Games has announced a bevy of massive changes and overhauls for all players to expect. The biggest one, announced earlier this year, was confirmation of the Replay System coming out in September. We now have our first official look on how the replay system will look on launch. However, VALORANT’s also getting a makeover this anniversary, with the game upgrading to Unreal Engine 5 and bringing with it the step up in performance and looks fans of the game deserve.
Replay System Comes to VALORANT
The VALORANT Replay System has been a topic of contention for the game’s playerbase since its inception – specifically the lack of a replay system. We now have official confirmation from Riot of the replay system shipping out for PCs with Patch 11.06 in September, so mark your calendars!
For fans of console VALORANT, the replay system will ship out a little later in the year, but rest assured, before 2025 is gone, we’ll all be able to replay our worse whiffs regardless of platform.
The replay system will come first to the competitive game mode and allows players to analyze their recently played gamed on the live patch. Further applications to other game modes will be explored in the future.
VALORANT Moves to Unreal Engine 5
There is not a more fitting time than the 5-year anniversary of a game to bring a massive visual and logistical overhaul such as the one Riot will attempt. Representing the latest version of the Unreal Engine developed by Epic Games, fans of the game will be treated to improved framerate performances and hastened patch download with the upload.
VALORANT’s swap to UE5 will take place on Patch 11.02, around the end of July.
Riot has warned that the uploaded patch on the release day will be a significantly large download to swap out the engines, so rest easy friends, you’ll be back to de-ranking before you know it.
Special assurances have been made by Riot that the engine swap will not greatly impact the game’s overall look, feel, and in-game actions (your cringe lineups should be safe).
Lastly, a special gun buddy will be issued to all players who log onto the game while patch 11.02 remains live, to commemorate the momentous occasion.
