Team Falcons took to their official X account to announce the benching of Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen, Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer, and Pavle "maden" Bošković from their active roster.

In addition, Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyljev, on loan from Natus Vincere, confirmed that his spell with the team will not be extended. This sudden and sweeping change marks a pivotal moment for the organization as it grapples with underwhelming performances and the need for a complete roster rebuild.

When Team Falcons assembled a star-studded roster, including Dupreeh, a five-time Major winner, and the core of the ENCE roster, the team appeared very good on paper. However, the results on the server fell far short of expectations. Their peak performance came at ESL Challenger DreamHack Summer 2024, where they missed the championship title, losing to Complexity Gaming in the grand finals.

Despite showing glimpses of potential here and there, inconsistency plagued the team. The Shanghai Major's absence was the final straw, prompting this dramatic overhaul.

Zonic and the Road Ahead

With Emil "Magisk" Reif as the sole active player and head coach Danny "zonic" Sørensen remaining at the helm, the onus falls on him to rebuild a competitive lineup.

Rumors of Nikola "NiKo" Kovač joining after the Shanghai Major have sparked intrigue, but even if Falcons secure the superstar, three more world-class players are needed to complete the entire puzzle. But even then, it is unsure if the team will be able to pull themselves out of this rut that they seemingly put themselves in.

The recent benching of Alvaro "SunPayus" Garcia—a move that baffled fans and analysts alike—adds further uncertainty. There is lingering hope that SunPayus could return, but the team must act swiftly to regain its footing before the competitive 2025 season begins.

Fan and Community Backlash

This announcement has not been well received. People on social media platforms, as well as rival organizations, have criticized Falcons' management, with memes and jokes circulating  online. The organization’s vision and decision-making are under scrutiny, further intensifying the pressure to deliver results in 2025.

Team Falcons' decision to overhaul their roster signals yet another bold, albeit risky, attempt to bounce back from a disappointing 2024 campaign. With only Magisk and Zonic as the pillars of the team, the next steps will define whether the organization can rise to its lofty ambitions or fade further into obscurity.

CS2 Major Revenue Share Changes Are Pushing Organizations Away from Counter-Strike

Valve’s new CS2 Major revenue share ties sticker income to VRS and final placement, removing capsule‑style payouts and concentrating money among top finishers. The result: higher volatility for clubs that relied on sticker cheques, early roster cuts like Gaimin Gladiators, and a narrower field of sustainable CS2 organizations unless the payout model changes.
