After releasing Eroll “EJAY” Jule R. Delfin, RRQ were trialing multiple players to fill in the duelist role. Amongst the rumored additions were North American Peter “Governor” No and the Scarz duelist Maksim “Jemkin” Batorov.

Governor was a crucial part of the Turtle Troops(Squirtle Squad) roster, a F/A team that secured Knights NA Challengers 2023 through Open Qualifiers.

Jemkin on the other hand was on the Japanese Scarz roster who placed second at the VCT Pacific Ascension 2023. They dominated the VCL Japan Stage 2 2023 and won over Fennel and Crazy Racoons qualifying for the VCT Pacific Ascension 2023.

RRQ has decided on Jemkin as the final addition to their roster. This news comes after the addition of Park “Estrella” Geon not too long ago.

The decision to bring in Jemkin and Estrella comes after a season of struggle which saw RRQ failing to qualify for any international events. They were amongst the bottom four teams and did not seem like a contender at any point in the VCT Pacific 2023.

The addition of Estrella and Jemkin also marks the transition of RRQ to a completely English speaking roster. With added experience and firepower from Estrella and Jemkin, RRQ might turn out to be a strong dark horse in VCT Pacific 2024.
