Riot Games has reaffirmed its commitment to creating a safe and enjoyable environment for Valorant players by announcing a series of new measures aimed at curbing toxic behavior in the game.

Studio Head Anna Donlon shared these plans on the official Valorant X account, emphasizing Riot's commitment to creating a safer and more enjoyable environment for players.

Enhanced Penalty System

To tackle the most severe forms of toxic behavior such as hate speech, severe sexual content, and threats of violence, Riot Games will be implementing updates to their existing policies over the next 30 days. These updates will allow for more severe and quicker penalties. This includes a range of actions from temporary bans to permanent bans, and even hardware bans for the most egregious offenders.

Expansion of Review Teams

Anticipating an increase in reports requiring manual review, Riot Games will expand their team to ensure they take timely and appropriate actions against offenders. This move aims to enhance player trust in the reporting system. And ensuring that reported issues are dealt with effectively.

Riot Voice Evaluation (RVE) Expansion

The Riot Voice Evaluation system, currently in beta in North America for English-speaking players, has shown promising results, with a 75% reduction in repeat offenders. Riot Games plans to roll out this system to more regions and languages later this year. But while taking into account local regulations on player safety and privacy.

Proactive Measures in the Future

While penalties and punishments are essential, Riot Games is also focusing on proactive measures to create an environment where harassment is less likely to occur. More details on these systems and designs will be shared in the future.

And where they can experience the joy of community and competition. Riot Games is committed to promoting the best in its players and making Valorant a welcoming space for all.

With these initiatives, Riot Games aims to foster a positive gaming environment. Thus reinforcing its dedication to player safety and community well-being.
