At the VCT Games Changers Championship 2023 Grand Finals, Riot Games launched the trailer for Drift, the new Valorant TDM map inspired by Thailand.

Drift, the new TDM map will hit the servers with Valorant Patch 7.12 coming on 5th December 2023. The trailer showcases the map’s scenic locations and a really interesting zipline connecting the map lanes. The map features long site lines and significant mid. It will feature a three lane design.

Drift is Valorant's fourth TDM map. Team Deathmatch (TDM) already features three maps in District, Kasbah, Piazza. The mode has been an important warm-up tool for the players featuring multiple weapons and an interesting format.

The fast pace race to hundred kills game mode prepares you for multiple angles. Now the new map will now help with rope combats with the zipline connecting two lanes.

Talking about the design goals for the new TDM map, Lead Map Designer Joey Simas said:

“Drift takes our approach to TDM maps and carves out more isolated lanes allowing for more predictable fights. It also features a long range mid that has several paths that let you weave in and out of the space for more dynamic engagements.”

According to the lead designer, Drift introduces long range space that players can fight over. The zipline will help players quickly switch lanes.

The designers were largely inspired by the floating markets of Thailand. They focused on incorporating the wooden architecture that allows for weapon penetration and more ability usage.

Valorant Patch 7.12 will also feature Gekko buffs and Skye balancing updates along with multiple bug fixes. You can read more about it here.
