Quest Esports is the team that has been on the rise lately. The former Division II team caught everyone off-guard with their improvements. However, Quest seems to reach its crossroads as the team has parted ways with their coach, Alexander "Accell" Litvienko, after their impressive run at The Bali Major. Despite their performance, Quest couldn’t secure enough DPC points to get a direct invite to The International 2023. Not securing the Ti invite could play a pivotal role in the decision. In the official statement, the team expressed their gratitude to the coach.

Reflecting Quest Esports’ Recent Records

Formerly known as Ooredoo Thunders, Quest Esports was a Division II team in Western Europe. Posting promising results, the team topped WEU Division II in the Winter Tour and got promoted to Division I for the Spring Tour. Despite facing the likes of Entity, Nigma Galaxy, and OG in the Spring Tour, Quest Esports managed to hold onto their Division I slot with three wins and four losses, placing fifth.

Before the Summer Tour, the team briefly participated in European Pro League Season 8 with a standin. Posting tremendous improvements and results during their European Pro League, Quest Esports decided to loan Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf Nigma Galaxy to their team for the Summer Tour.

In the Summer Tour, with ATF’s help, the team reach soaring heights. They come on top against Team Liquid, OG and Team Secret. In the tiebreaker series, they again triumphed over Team Liquid, the DPC Kings and secured the top-three finish for the first time. They got their first-ever Major ticket to The Bali Major after the end of the Summer Tour.

Promising Results

At The Bali Major, Quest did exceptionally. In the group stages, Quest secured the top seed in Group B against Gaimin Gladiators, BetBoom Team and PSG.LGD. Quest Esports, with five wins and two losses, the team qualified for the playoffs’ upper brackets. In their first LAN debut, they took the series against Team Aster.

However, they got knocked down to the lower bracket by Gaimin Gladiators in their next match. They eliminated PSGLGD in their lower-bracket series. However, Quest crumbled in the lower-bracket semi-finals. Team Liquid tore apart Quest Esports in the lower bracket semi-finals and knocked them out of The Bali Major.

However, despite their elimination, Quest Esports had already made their mark. They proved they were capable of going toe-to-toe against the Titans. Moreover, the team already qualified for The Riyadh Master 2023 through MENA qualifiers. Their next challenge lies in Riyadh before their first debut at The International 2023 qualifiers.
