The Bali Major has reached its climax, and Gaimin Gladiators once triumphed as the champions of the Major. The team is yet to lose a single LAN. Moreover, after winning The Bali Major, Gaimin Gladiators successfully swept the 2022-2023 DPC Season.

Gaimin Gladiators dominated the upper brackets and entered the grand finals as the favourites. They met their opponents from the previous Majors, Team Liquid, at the grand finals of The Bali Major. Gaimin Gladiators were the clear favourites, but only a few anticipated how Team Liquid would stand up to them. However, despite Liquid’s best efforts, Gaimin Gladiators crushed them with ease, taking effortless victory. There were some technical issues during the games as well.

Game 1

Both teams played a slow-paced game in game 1. Team Liquid had a draft that allowed them to snowball after winning the laning stage, while Gaimin had a safelane Terrorblade backed by a midlane Timbersaw. During the laning stage, both teams traded blows, but Team Liquid got heavily punished when they started rotations to enable their cores.

Despite getting punished, Team Liquid did not back down. They brought more numbers for the skirmishes to pull ahead. In the later stages of the game, Team Liquid heavily prioritise the backlines of Gaimin. However, in a particular skirmish, they didn’t, and it returned to haunt them. As Gaimin wiped Team Liquid, they quickly took objective after objective, eventually taking the game at  48 minutes.

Game 2

Team Liquid played a fast-paced game in game 2 with a Primal Beast mid and a Leshrac safelane backed by a support IO. Their draft offers high magic damage bursts that Team Liquid efficiently utilise. Team Liquid built their momentum since the laning stage, and in the mid-game, they took objectives. Even though Gaimin’s heroes came online, they had no answers against the heavy magical burst from Team Liquid. Gaimin eventually tapped out at 54 minutes from game 2.

Game 3

Team Liquid went with a greedy draft in game 3 with a tri-core of Medusa, Sniper and Enigma. Gaimin Gladiators heavily capitalised on the fact that Liquid had no space creators and played an aggressive game. With Slark, Io and Leshrac, Gaimin looks for the pick-offs on the map as they secure objectives. Eventually, the tri-core draft from Team Liquid never actually got off, nor had the start they wanted, and at 21 minutes, Gaimin Gladiators took game 3.

Game 4

Gaimin Gladiators took the Medusa draft in game 4. On the other hand, Team Liquid went with a cheese mid-lane draft, Lone Druid, backed by an offlane Primal Beast. Gaimin heavily pressured the Lone Druid lane, but Liquid, in return, brought numbers to defend their midlaner. Gaimin managed to hold off Team Liquid until their Medusa came online. Eventually, at 29 minutes, Gaimin took game 4, taking the series, becoming The Bali Major Champions.

What’s Next?

The only tier 1 tournament that’s left is the Riyadh Masters 2023. The tournament features a whopping $15 USD million prize pool. Gaimin Gladiators had already qualified for it. They are the favourites to be the Riyadh Master 2023 Champions. It is the final pit stop before The International 2023.
