PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 Playoffs: Teams, Format, Fixtures, and More

The PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 is off to a great start. The Swiss Stage reinforced the current VRS rankings, with the top 8 teams representing the very best of CS esports qualifying for the Playoffs.

Let’s look at what the stage has in store for us.

Teams and Format

Eight teams out of the playing 16 have qualified for the Playoffs. These are:

These eight teams are seeded into the single-elimination playoffs bracket according to their Swiss Stage performance. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and third-place decider will be Bo3s and the tournament will conclude with a Bo5 Grand Finals.

Playoffs Fixtures and Schedule

Team Falcons vs. Parivision [February 20 | 10:00 am CET]

On paper, Team Falcons should clear Parivision. But in their previous clash, Parivision took down the star-studded roster, to lift the first trophy of the year. If Falcons continue to fail to play up to their standards, Parivision’s style will once again reign supreme.

MOUZ vs. Natus Vincere [February 20 | 01:00 pm CET]

MOUZ played the bridesmaid to Vitality in the first half of 2025. But as the competition increased, they were pushed down the ladder. While they are the favorites to win, the crowd-backed iM and co. can very much take them down.

Team Vitality vs. Aurora Gaming [February 20 | 04:00 pm CET]

Aurora Gaming’s form to start the year has helped them make really deep runs. But Team Vitality, especially with the form Zywoo is in, is a completely different beast. And unless their opponents have a really bad day, the Turkish giants will most likely lose the bout.

The MongolZ vs. FURIA [February 20 | 07:00 pm CET]

FURIA were the best team going into the Major and compared to their pre-Major form, they seem to be a bit quieter in 2026. They still, however, are the stronger team at the moment. For The MongolZ, this is the exact match-up that will challenge them mechanically and tactically, and winning will not only give them confidence but also push their evolution further.

Who Will Win Cluj-Napoca?

The first two tournaments of 2026 have been delivering in terms of action. Especially, the Parivision win at BLAST Bounty had instilled hopes of a year full of a tussle. Unfortunately, Team Vitality’s Kraków triumph and the form the team displayed might’ve heralded another year with the superteam winning the majority of the tournaments.

Cluj-Napoca will either solidify Vitality’s claim on the year or will allow for a new champion to rise from these top CS teams. Either way, the tournament sets the tone for the first half of the competitive year.

For us, Team Vitality is the team to beat at the competition. Zywoo is in amazing form, while mezii, ropz, and flameZ have also been finding their footing, making it almost impossible for teams to match them.

Their biggest challenger, FURIA, while a bit shaky, are a team that have the talent and tactics to match the favorites. Unfortunately, they are on the same side of the bracket, meaning that if they meet, it’d be in the semifinals. Also, the winner of that semifinals match-up will also claim the PGL Cluj-Napoca trophy.

For their opponents, Aurora Gaming and the MongolZ, this will be an uphill battle. Even if they win their respective QF fixtures, the next games will be equally tough.

The other side of the bracket has Parivision, Team Falcons, MOUZ and Natus Vincere. Both these QF fixtures are pretty much balanced, at least based on how the year has started for these teams.

The stakes, however, are much different. Team Falcons—with m0NESY, NiKo and Kyousuke— need to win a tournament. If they lose to Parivision once again, questions need to be asked about the team's performance (or lack thereof at crucial stages of competition.)

MOUZ, the defending Cluj-Napoca Champions, also need to reevaluate their game plan, as they have consistently failed to secure the big moments themselves. NAVI, who have now played together for 6 months, are on an upswing, but it never seems to be enough. They are a tier-1 team with only one player performing at any given time.

If Parivision manage to beat two of these three teams, they’d not only rise up the ladder, but solidify themselves as a solid tier-1 team. Either way, whoever survives this side of the bracket will likely play for second place. Meaning, we expect either Team Vitality or FURIA to win PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026.
