In a bold and unexpected crossover, Blizzard Entertainment is teaming up with Capcom to bring Street Fighter 6 characters into Overwatch 2 through a new set of skins launching on May 20, 2025. Revealed during the kickoff of Evo Japan 2025 in Tokyo, this collaboration is one of Overwatch 2’s most expansive and high-profile yet, merging two iconic franchises with global appeal.

The World Warriors Arrive in Overwatch

Eight heroes from Overwatch 2 will be “cosplaying” as Street Fighter characters, blending fan-favorite looks from both universes. The full crossover lineup includes:

  • Hanzo as Ryu
  • Juno as Chun-Li
  • Kiriko as Juri
  • Sigma as M. Bison
  • Soldier:76 as Guile
  • Widowmaker as Cammy
  • Winston as Blanka
  • Zenyatta as Dhalsim

Each hero’s skin is designed to pay homage to Street Fighter 6, with the visual fidelity and flair Overwatch fans expect. While we’ve only seen Hanzo as Ryu in actual gameplay - complete with Hadouken and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku-themed emotes - the rest have made an appearance in an animated trailer that leans heavily into the Street Fighter aesthetic.

Support Mains Take the Spotlight

Notably, Kiriko’s Legendary Juri skin is poised to be the star of the event. Juri, known for her chaotic and sadistic fighting style in Street Fighter, meshes perfectly with Kiriko’s fast-paced, mischievous vibe. Expect this skin to dominate competitive and casual matches alike.

Equally buzzworthy is Juno’s Chun-Li skin, a perfect fit for Overwatch 2’s newest support hero, who’s quickly become a fan favorite. Considering Chun-Li’s global popularity and Juno’s rising profile, this pairing is bound to be a hit in terms of both playtime and cosmetic sales.

A New Era of Crossovers?

This also marks a first for Blizzard: a major gaming crossover outside of its own IPs.

Until now, Blizzard had kept collabs mostly internal, with World of Warcraft and Diablo content crossing into Overwatch 2. This Street Fighter event signals a potential shift in strategy, especially under the broader Microsoft gaming umbrella. With access to properties like Halo, Doom, and Gears of War, the possibilities for future collaborations have never been more exciting.

Release Date and Cost

While pricing hasn’t been announced, previous collaborations suggest that bundles will likely cost around 2,800 Overwatch Coins (roughly $30 USD). Emotes and other cosmetics are expected alongside the skins, though details remain under wraps.

Whether you're here for the nostalgia, the skins, or just to see Kiriko kick like Juri, Overwatch 2 x Street Fighter 6 launches May 20. It’s time to pick your fighter.
