M80, one of North America’s fastest-growing esports organizations, has announced the acquisition of Beastcoast. The move signals M80’s expansion into new titles, including DOTA 2 and Pokémon. Alongside continued efforts in Rainbow Six Siege, Valorant, and Counter-Strike 2.

Integrating Beastcoast’s Legacy

The acquisition brings Beastcoast’s esports teams, creators, and media assets under the M80 banner. Known mainly for its DOTA 2 and Rainbow Six Siege, Beastcoast’s roster has qualified for four consecutive iterations of The International. And even boasts a win at the BLAST R6 Manchester Major. Additionally, Beastcoast boasts nearly 175 million annual views and a collective following of 3.7 million fans across all brand and social channels.

Grant Zinn, Beastcoast’s CEO, will join M80 as Chief Business Development Officer. He is now tasked with supporting M80’s global expansion and focusing on “exciting, but underserved” esports communities like Pokémon and regions like South America.

“This acquisition is about blending our strengths and reaching even greater heights. M80 and Beastcoast share a vision of building vibrant communities, and we’re thrilled to push forward together.”

- Marco Mereu, Founder and CEO, M80

Expanding Global Reach

M80’s acquisition significantly bolsters its presence in international esports. By integrating Beastcoast’s well-established fan base with M80’s global community of 20 million fans, the organization aims to create one of the most dynamic and hyped esports brands.

The move also introduces Beastcoast’s DOTA 2 roster into M80’s portfolio, expanding its competitive reach. Additionally, Beastcoast’s success in the Pokémon competitive and content ecosystem adds a unique dimension to M80. Thus enabling further engagement with grassroots fan communities.

“We’ve always prioritized innovation and community. Joining M80 allows us to continue that mission on a larger scale while exploring new frontiers.”

- Grant Zinn

Impact on Existing Titles

In Rainbow Six Siege, M80 decided not to retain Beastcoast’s roster. The team had been rebranded under Cloud9 Beastcoast after winning the BLAST R6 Major Manchester. The roster, including players like Gaveni, SpiriTz, and Hotancold, is now seeking a new organization to represent at the Six Invitational 2025 in Boston. Meanwhile, the futures of dfuzr and Gunnar still remain unclear.

M80’s acquisition of Beastcoast is a bold step forward, blending two dynamic organizations to create a powerhouse in global esports. With new ventures into DOTA 2 and Pokémon, and a reinforced commitment to community-driven innovation, M80 is in prime position to make a mark on the esports landscape.
