The Esports World Cup 2026 has unveiled its first-ever collectible item, a chessboard played on and signed by League of Legends players Jung "Chovy" Ji-hoon and Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok. The chessboard is now being auctioned, allowing fans to acquire a unique piece of esports history.
Faker x Chovy Chessboard
During the League of Legends tournament at EWC 2026, the two Korean mid-laners used their free time to take their rivalry to a different stage. Both frequently played chess, putting their discipline and game-reading skills to the test away from Summoner’s Rift.
They played their games on a handmade chessboard that was later signed by both players, turning it into a unique piece of esports history.
That chessboard will now be auctioned on the EWC website, allowing fans to bring this unique piece of esports history into their homes. The auction will end on August 31 and is open to fans worldwide.

What Comes With the Chessboard?
Alongside the signed chessboard, the EWC 2026 auction also includes a set of premium chess pieces and a certificate of authenticity confirming that the board was used by both players during the shoot on July 14. No additional editions of the board will be produced.
Once the auction concludes, the proceeds will be split between Gen.G, T1, and the Esports Foundation. All the funds generated will be used by all three organizations to support player wellbeing initiatives, ensuring this item leaves a positive impact on the esports community.
