Los Ratones Shuts Down: Caedrel Announces the End of the Team

"It's a really bittersweet ending."

After a crushing final week of the 2026 LEC Versus Regular Season, where Los Ratones just barely missed out on qualifying for Playoffs, Caedrel has now announced that the team is officially coming to an end.

A Roller Coaster LEC Ride

Excitement about getting to watch Los Ratones compete in the LEC was high at the start of the season. And though the journey did not have a smooth start whatsoever after the team went winless throughout the first week of games, the team would go on to turn things around in remarkable fashion to reach the final day of the Regular Season confident they could make it to the Playoffs.

In the end, though, the stars happened to align to keep Los Ratones out, effectively putting an end to their adventures in the LEC.

Now, just days after their disappointing exit, Caedrel has taken to YouTube to announce that the Los Ratones project is shutting down. "From you side, thank you. The journey has been absolutely inconceivable."

"I'm so proud of everyone [...] The fact that we got really close to making a top-3 regular season finish is definitely something to be proud of considering we started off so badly."

Despite the crushing nature of their last-minute elimination from the LEC, Caedrel also wanted to take the opportunity to state very clearly that no one outside of Los Ratones is to blame.

"This was entirely in our hands and we just slipped at the last second. There's no outside reasoning. There's no other players or teams or people to point at."

Will Los Ratones Ever Return?

Never is a strong word. The fact is the team is splitting up, and everyone will be going their separate ways.

"Who knows what the future holds [...] Some of the boys will pursue pro perhaps. Some of the boys will move into different areas of pro maybe. Some of the boys will continue and grow streaming."

That being said, Caedrel has left the door open for the possibility of Los Ratones making a future appearance in some way, shape or form. Not, however, as a team of five competing in an official tournament such as the LEC.

"Maybe if there is like a showmatch or some crazy thing coming up where we can reunite the Avengers and have a bit of fun, then that's something we can definitely consider for sure. But this is the end of Los Ratones."

Make sure to watch the full video announcement below to hear from Baus, Velja, Nemesis, Crownie, and Rekkles on what the journey has meant for them as well as what the future might hold for each as they all go their separate ways.
