The stage is set, G2 Esports and Movistar KOI will take each other on to decide who will become the 2025 LEC Spring Champions. With both teams already qualified to MSI 2025, the two squads will head into these Grand Finals with one of the most important things in esports on the line: bragging rights (and the trophy).

In just his second split since making the move from the LCS to the LEC, Joseph "Jojopyun" Pyun now finds himself just one win away from claiming his first title in his new region. Standing across from him as the final hurdle ahead of the trophy, however, stands none other than the European King of the Mid Lane: Rasmus "Caps" Winther.

MKOI Take Down the Reigning Champs

The road to the Finals has been anything but smooth for Movistar KOI. The Spanish team has had a grueling run at these LEC Spring Playoffs, including two matches against the reigning LEC Champions of Karmine Corp in what is growing into one of the most heated rivalries in the league.

Against their French neighbors, MKOI played a total of 10 games throughout the Playoffs, winning both series by the finest of margins (3-2 in both instances). Waiting now on the other side now, though, is the only team that has managed to defeat Movistar KOI at these Playoffs: G2 Esports.

Reports of G2's Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated

After G2 failed to come away with the first LEC trophy of the year back during the Winter Season, the team was given the benefit of the doubt given that they were working with a fresh new lineup. Come Spring, though, G2's form hardly looked to have picked up, as the once Kings of Europe finished in a disappointing fourth place during the Regular Season. With their dwindling form, talk inevitably began about G2 no longer being the dominant team they once were.

And yet, as always, come the Playoffs, G2 showed up. Despite their glaring issues to start the season, G2 cranked up the heat for the Spring Playoffs, were no team in the league have been able to match them so far. The squad has looked dominant in both of their 3-1 wins, first over Fnatic, and then over none other than their upcoming rivals of Movistar KOI.

Having looked vastly superior to the Spanish team two weeks ago in the Upper Bracket Finals, G2 will head into these Finals confident they have can do so once more to get their hands on the trophy.

Jojo Looks to Conquer Europe

The youngest player in history to lift an LCS trophy, Jojopyun now sets his sights on taking over the LEC as well. And what better way to do so than by bringing down the undisputed European GOAT of Caps in a stellar Mid Lane matchup.

At these Spring Playoffs, Jojo has truly put the full extent of his champion pool on display, playing a total of 11 different champions throughout the bracket so far. With Fearless Draft in full effect, the Canadian star's ability to shine across different picks while executing distinct roles for his team has proved vital in MKOI's extended series on their way to the Finals.

When it comes to the coming match, though, the question has to be asked: will Jojo be allowed to play his game when he faces one of the most experienced players in the Mid Lane at these Grand Finals, or will Caps' veteran presence put out the fire inside this foreign star.

Prediction: Who Claims the Title?

Against all odds, G2 Esports have looked very solid at the LEC Spring Playoffs. With MSI 2025 on the horizon, the team looks to be synergizing at just the right time as all of the pieces of the puzzle begin to fall into place.

Over on the side of Movistar KOI, there is little to doubt as to the individual capabilities of players like Jojopyun or Elyoya, both of whom know what it's like to lift multiple LCS/LEC trophies. That said, as special as MKOI's run at these Playoffs has been, it has also shown too many weaknesses, and too many inconsistencies.

If G2 show up to the Finals looking like the well-oiled machine they became for the start of the Playoffs, then Caps and co. should be able to exploit MKOI's issues to come away with the trophy. When all is said and done, we predict G2 Esports to take the series 3-1.

Where to Watch

When Jojopyun takes on Caps with the LEC trophy on the line, the match will be more than just another Finals; it will be a clash between regions, and a battle of the continents.
