Karmine Corp have secured the final spot in the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage after sweeping MVK Esports 3-0 on Sunday, October 18. The result completes the 16-team field for the next phase of the League of Legends World Championship.
The LEC's third seed won all three of its best-of-five series in the Play-In Stage, including two 3-0 victories over MVK. The Vietnamese team, meanwhile, exits Worlds one series short of qualification.
How Karmine Corp Swept MVK Esports
KC opened the deciding series with a 13-2 kill advantage and an approximately 11,400-gold lead, winning Game 1 in 32 minutes and 30 seconds. In Game 2, jungler Martin "Yike" Sundelin went 9/2/2 on Qiyana as Karmine Corp took another win in 27 minutes and 28 seconds.
The third game lasted just 26 minutes and 56 seconds. KC finished with a 25-12 kill advantage, while ADC Caliste "Caliste" Henry-Hennebert posted a 9/1/3 score on Ezreal to help close out the sweep.
Karmine Corp's Road Through the Worlds 2026 Play-In
KC began its Worlds campaign on October 15 with a 3-2 comeback victory over Cloud9. The North American side led the series 2-1, but Karmine Corp won Games 4 and 5 to reach the upper-bracket final.
On October 16, KC swept MVK Esports 3-0 in the upper-bracket final to secure its place in Sunday's qualification match. The rematch ended with the same scoreline, giving Karmine Corp a 9-2 game record across the Play-In Stage.
MVK Esports opened the tournament with a 3-0 win over Brazil's FURIA before falling to Karmine Corp in the upper-bracket final. The Vietnamese squad then beat FURIA again, this time 3-1, to earn a second chance against KC.
But MVK could not reverse the result in the final. Their second defeat to Karmine Corp ended their Worlds 2026 run, following the earlier eliminations of Cloud9 and FURIA.
