Valorant protocol's fifth Duelist, Yoru, provides players with a kit to teleport behind the enemy defense and break it from within. Yoru has been reworked and is one of the most challenging agents to use in the game. The difficulty in getting value out of the kit leads to it being the least-picked agent in professional Valorant.

Yoru's Ability kit:

How to play - Yoru?

Yoru has a unique kit that allows players to infiltrate enemy lines. The agent's playmaking revolves around the signature ability Gatecrash, which doubles down as a fake after the rework. A standard Yoru attack would be sending the rift tether toward a site. Sending in a clone and flashing the enemy positions, and teleporting.

Players can also completely fake a site take using Yoru, and a controller smokes, and Yoru can later teleport to another site. Players can combine real teleport, and fake teleports to completely disorient enemy defense and help their team gain a massive advantage.

Yoru's clone or Fake Out can be used as a recon to clear close angles and help sniff out ratty plays. They are precious in countering Sentinel Utility, e.g., Cypher trip.

On defense, players can use yoru close to misdirect opponents and hold a passive angle to take out pushing opponents. When used with other abilities, Yoru's Ultimate can turn the tides of a game. It is a recon and a cover for Yoru and can help teammates pinpoint enemies and take them down.

After rework, Players can use abilities while being inside the Dimensional Drift. This helps a lot, especially for guerrilla attacks where teammates can funnel an opponent into a stun or a flash, and yoru can pop out to kill the enemy.

Yoru as an agent entirely relies on how players utilize the kit. The agent's success depends on how convincing the ability usage is and how well the abilities are used. Even with perfect usage, it is tough to sell Yoru fakeouts, and Tp fakes to experienced players, making 50% of the agent's kit null, thus leading to fewer people playing the agent.

Tips for Yoru Mains:

As mentioned earlier, Yoru's success in Valorant depends on the kit, and it is essential for players wanting to main Yoru to understand how the agent's abilities interact with the map. Players should ensure they know where they'd teleport using Gatecrash to have an advantage and not the enemy team. Players must practice lineups for Gatecrash and flash to ensure a maximum success rate for the combination. One of the best examples of how Yoru can be utilized in Competitive play is Paper Rex's Yoru Composition on Bind.

Another good example of Yoru in professional play will be Valorant Champions Tour Game Changers Champions G2 Gozen vs. Cloud9 White on Pearl.

Along with these games, content creators Red, Ethos, and Ziptie are among the best Yoru mains. The agent ability requires practice and once the abilities are completely understood with timings, Yoru can easily take over the game.
