All Corrode Map Changes in VALORANT Patch 13.08
Riot Games has announced several changes to Corrode in VALORANT Patch 13.08, including shorter rotation routes for Defenders, a reworked Mid area, and an adjustment to the A Site plant zone.
After more than a year of reviewing matches and gathering data, Riot identified several areas of the map that needed improvement. The changes aim to make retakes easier for defenders while giving attackers more options and making fights around Mid more predictable. Here's a look at what's changing, with official before-and-after screenshots provided by Riot Games.
Defenders: Shorter Rotation Routes to Sites
One of the biggest changes addresses how long it takes defenders to rotate between sites on Corrode. Riot found that the existing routes made it particularly difficult for defenders to get back into position and attempt a retake.
To address this, the developer has adjusted the paths leading from Defender Spawn toward the back of A Site and B Site. The shorter routes should allow defenders to rotate more quickly and safely, giving them a better chance to contest a site after attackers have taken control.
The screenshots below show the affected routes before and after the changes.

Corrode Mid Rework Changes Walls and Cover
Mid is also getting several adjustments aimed at giving both sides more predictable engagements. Previously, attackers were forced through a narrow choke point into Lower Mid, where defenders could slow their advance by spraying through the half wall.
Riot is making three main changes to this area:
- Mid half wall: The wall has been changed to metal and moved one meter outward, reducing the effectiveness of wall spam.
- Lower Mid boxes: The boxes at the back of Lower Mid have been moved toward B, with a new jump-up added nearby.
- Lower Mid wall: The wall has been raised to prevent players from peeking over it while standing on the repositioned boxes.
The repositioned half wall also gives attackers an opportunity to move toward A Link without being spotted from Top Mid, opening up another way to approach the area.
These changes are intended to give attackers more room to work with while reducing the pressure created by the previous choke point.

A Site Plant Zone Also Receives an Adjustment
Riot has also modified the A Site plant zone to make post-plant setups from A Link less effective.
The adjustment is intended to limit the advantage of playing post-plant from that position. However, the patch notes do not specify the exact dimensions or boundaries of the revised plant zone.
Corrode Returns to the Competitive Map Pool
Alongside its layout changes, Corrode is returning to the Competitive and Deathmatch map pools in Patch 13.08. Bind is also coming back, while Ascent and Split are being removed from both queues.
Beyond the Corrode rework and map rotation, VALORANT Patch 13.08 introduces Map Rating, a new system that tracks individual performance on each map. The update also brings client interface improvements, a visual and audio adjustment to Killjoy's Alarmbot, and several bug fixes. You can find the full breakdown in the VALORANT Patch 13.08 notes.
