Gen.G came into their match against KT Rolster this Saturday (August 9th) with only 3 series to go in order to finish the LCK Summer Season with a perfect 18-0 record.

KT, however, had other plans.

KT put an end to the Gen.G ride

Gen.G came off to a flying start in their series against KT Rolster. The South Korean powerhouse took the first game of the day in convincing fashion off the back of Kim "Kiin" Gi-in, who put on a stunning performance on Aurora in the top lane. Kiin's prowess on League of Legends' newest champion was in full display, as he dominated KT and finished the game with a 7/0/5 KDA.

And yet, KT would not shy away from a challenge. The following two games of the series were controlled by KT in a style reminiscent of Gen.G's own domination all season long.

Ultimately, KT put the experience of their seasoned roster to work as they managed to make all the right decisions in all the right moments, coming up with the surprising 2-1 victory.

Despite Gen.G breaking records left and right all season long in the LCK, the loss against KT will mean that the team is now unable to end the season undefeated, a feat they were oh-so-close to achieving.

KT Rolster - the Dream Crushers

Gen.G fans were hoping that the team's dominant display in the LCK would culminate in only the second perfect season in the history of the LCK, a dream that simply could not be in the end.

Fans might remember that Gen.G had similar aspirations during the 2024 LCK Spring Season, but ultimately finished the split with a 17-1 record, with their only loss also coming at the hands of KT Rolster.

As of now, the only perfect season in the LCK has been achieved by T1 during the Spring Season of 2022, a record that will have to stand a little longer.

Locke in League of Legends: Abilities, Playstyle, Release Date

Riot’s newest champion, Corvin Locke, arrives as a nail-slinging exorcist versed in forbidden rites, shaped by a childhood steeped in Demacian lies and hypocrisy. Born to Demacian occultists, Locke grew up learning a brutal lesson: demons are not the source of humanity’s darkness, but its consequence. That belief drives his mission now—to tear through every soul, expose its hidden rot, and make the world a little more honest, one exorcism at a time.
