Gen.G has had an amazing year in League of Legends thus far. The team now looks to continue their Korean domination by claiming the 2024 LCK Summer trophy for themselves. This time, however, they are doing it in style.

Following their victory against BRION on Wednesday, July 24th, Gen.G has broken yet another LCK record. The win now marks the third record the team has claimed during this Summer Season.

Gen.G make history (again)

Gen.G dominated the first half of the year, starting off by winning the 2024 LCK Spring Season in convincing fashion, losing only a single series throughout the entire competition (against KT Rolster in Week 4). The South Korean team then continued their run of form by winning the 2024 Mid Season Invitational (MSI) without dropping a series.

Now, Gen.G looks more focused than ever. The team went ahead and broke two LCK records after their series against Nongshim RedForce last Thursday, July 18th. The 2-0 victory meant Gen.G became sole owners of the longest game win streak in the LCK with 20 consecutive wins, trumping the previous record of 19 wins held by the 2013-2014 iteration of SKT.

Gen.G now also holds the longest game win streak in a single season in the LCK at 18 consecutive game wins.

The amazing run came to an end at the hands of Dplus KIA on Saturday, July 20th, with Gen.G losing the first game before eventually winning the series 2-1.

Gen.G would not let the single-game loss affect their confidence, however.

This Wednesday, the team broke yet another record and are now holders of the longest series win streak in the LCK following their match win against BRION. Gen.G currently sits at 25 consecutive series wins in the LCK.

Sky's the limit for Gen.G, as fans are eager to find out if the team can continue their remarkable year by winning the Summer Season and qualifying for the 2024 League of Legends World Championship as South Korean's first seed.
