The year is about to start on the professional side of Dota 2 with the upcoming FISSURE PLAYGROUND, set to happen in Belgrade. After what felt like an eternity of qualifiers, teams will be back in action starting on January 24th.

Similarly to most Tier 1 tournaments, we have a $1,000,000 USD prize pool that is to be divided by the 16 teams invited to Belgrade. Without delay, let's dive in a little deeper and talk about the teams that will fight for coin and honor on this next endeavor.

FISSURE PLAYGROUND Belgrade 2025 Teams

Since this is FISSURE's first run with the PLAYGROUND brand, we have a lot of invited teams to start with. They represent every region, sometimes more than once, and despite the efforts made by the EPT, they chose not to establish MESWA as a region here.

Firstly we have the list of eleven teams that received the direct invite:

Afterwards we have a short list of the teams that got through the regional qualifiers. Since we don't have the MESWA region and the Americas got fused into one big region, that's five teams in total as we'll see below:

Western Europe

Eastern Europe

China

Southeast Asia

Americas

While we have an equal distribution in the regional qualifiers, the invites were a little different. In contrast with the qualifiers, the invites prioritized European teams, bringing 7 out of the 11 invites from Europe if we count Team Falcons as a WEU team.

FISSURE PLAYGROUND: Format and Schedule

In similar fashion to what we've seen on the PGL Wallachia, the group stage is a modified swiss system but with a couple of different rules. Most matches will be quick best of 1 disputes but advancing or elimination matches are best of 3.

This means that the first couple of rounds will be fast but from the third round and onward we'll see longer matches to decide who goes home. In the end of the group stage, half of the 16 teams will advance to the playoffs while the remaining teams go home.

Seeing that the first day is gonna have nonstop action, I would recommend you guys check on our tournament page. It has all the guidance you might need as to match times, odds, match up history and a lot of useful information. The matches start at 10 a.m. CET and go all day long up to 09:30 p.m. If we do not have long matches that change the planned schedule.

FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2025: Where to watch it?

According to the tournament's page on Liquipedia, fans have two streams to watch the concurring matches on Twitch and YouTube. If you're a Twitch guy the primary stream will be available here and the secondary stream is on this link.

On the other hand, if you'd rather use YouTube, the primary stream is on the FISSURE official channel on this link. You can also find the secondary stream by digging a little deeper on the channel using this other link.

Finally, if you have your own favorite Dota 2 streamer you don't have to worry. The official tournament account released community broadcasting rules so that everyone can help.

Community Broadcasting Rules means you can watch it wherever you want.
