The End of an Era: ENCE Files for Bankruptcy

Legendary CS2 organization ENCE signaled the end of its competitive journey with a simple, heartbreaking message on social media. The emotional announcement follows mounting financial pressures and persistent roster upheaval, marking the tragic downfall of an organization that once defined Finnish Counter-Strike and captured global attention with its iconic "#EZ4ENCE" tag.

Reactions are flooding in quickly from across the competitive scene, showing the massive impact that the Finnish org has had.

Roster Instability and Declining Results

ENCE's financial collapse followed a chaotic 2026 defined by relentless roster shifts and deteriorating competitive results.

In January 2026, ENCE had a series of transfers and roster changes, only to bench their main roster in March. Departures accelerated as Ninjas in Pyjamas acquired xKacpersky, forcing ENCE to promote its academy squad.

Summer saw further talent drains: FaZe Clan acquired enkay J and Neityu, F1KU moved to Metizport, sdy left after his contract ended, and podi joined FOKUS. Even appointing coach Aleksi "allu" Jalli in June failed to stabilize the roster.

These continuous disruptions severely impacted tournament performance, confining ENCE to lower-tier regional events, where they failed to deliver as well. The team’s only wins in 2026 were at Elisa Open Suomi Seasons 12 and 13, with only two other podium finishes.

Before that, their last A-tier trophy came at Elisa Masters Espoo 2024. Their last S-tier trophy was IEM Dallas 2023, back when the world was still playing CS:GO.

The Final Roster and Enduring Legacy

At the time of its closure, ENCE's active line-up comprised Teemu "teme" Korva, Aleksi "millert" Lehtopuu, Giorgi "Schwarz" Gakhokidze, Henri "HENU" Ylilehto, and Joe "joeski" Holmes, operating under coach allu. Whether they have already secured avenues in new orgs or are still yet to do so remains unknown for now.

Though financial realities forced the club into bankruptcy, ENCE leaves behind an unforgettable legacy celebrated worldwide for bringing Finnish esports to unprecedented heights.
