The rumor about Anton "dyrachyo" Shkredov leaving Tundra Esports comes true. He confirmed the hiatus yesterday on his Telegram channel and the team released a note on Twitter (@TundraEsports) earlier today.

At the same time we have confirmation of his break, other rumors start to spread about his replacement. Nightfall found a place to call his own on Aurora but there's another option up for the taking.

dyrachyo lost his inspiration

dyrachyo released a short video talking about the reasoning behind his hiatus. Apparently he does not feel compelled to play anymore and decided it's best to take a break than keep pushing forward without putting his heart on it.

I decided to take a break from my career because professional Dota does not bring me any joy. I don't feel any thrill playing tournament after tournament. So I decided that it is better to take a break until I have such a desire. During this period, I plan to travel, stream, enjoy life, and create content for you. Stay tuned. - translation by escorenews

Despite returning from another break after The International 2024, his time on Tundra Esports was cut short. In this short time, he won 2 tournaments and was the runner-up on 2 other, none of which was part of the ESL Pro Tour.

Now, Tundra Esports loses a core just a few days before the FISSURE Universe Episode 4. The roster is still unknown for the tournament and Tundra also needs points on the EPT if they want a direct invitation for the next Riyadh Masters/Esports World Cup.

For now, the most likely scenario is that PARIVISION, Team Spirit and Team Falcons stay on the Top 3 of the ESL Leaderboard. Tundra Esports might get that fourth spot with a couple of good placements.

Here comes a new carry

Meanwhile, we also have rumors about Anton's replacement coming from a conversation between Artour "Arteezy" Babaev and Kanishka "BuLba" Sosale. According to Reddit BuLba believes Remco "Crystallis" Arets will be the new carry for Tundra Esports.

Formerly playing on PARIVISION, Crystallis was never the type of player that stands out. Nevertheless, he's pretty consistent and that quality is a good one on a team that needs to perform after an unexpected loss.

In addition to Crystallis locking up on Crystallis, BuLba says he sees no other option that could be close to Tundra's coach, David "MoonMeander" Tan. He also says that the new carry will most likely come in after the next tournament.

If that information comes to reality, Tundra Esports will play FISSURE Universe with a stand-in. After FISSURE is over on the 30th, we have a week to get a name before the ESL One Raleigh.

Problems piling up fast

dyrachyo leaving Tundra Esports brings lot of problems for the team. Firstly we have the EPT performance that we already mentioned. If Tundra wants to get that juicy direct invite, they need to get Top 3 on the ESL One and the next DreamLeague.

After that, there's the always looming ghost of visa issues. ESL One is less than a month away and the US are particularly prone to bring up visa issues. Tundra is already on the clock for a new carry that either has the visa already, or a stand-in with the golden ticket in hand.

To top this all up, we have the confirmation that the Esports World Cup will be on the end of July and go into August. The event's official Twitter profile released a trailer confirming the window and cutting the already short wiggle time Tundra had.

For now, that's all we know and soon enough we will have the name of the first stand-in. Tundra Esports will have to shake off the burden of losing a carry and move on. The FISSURE Universe Episode 4 will start on March 22nd, next saturday.
