Dota 2 Short Film Contest 2025 celebrates a decade of creativity

The International 12 short film contest
There's something here for everybody!

Thus Dota 2 Contest is Valve's way of showcasing the talent of the game's community. Anyone can submit a 90 second video about the game. Most submissions aim to deliver a short story, either about a specific hero, game, or mechanic.

Last year's winner was named "At Any Cost" and it highlighted the strength of a late game Tinker, along with what it takes to lure an overconfident player.

There is a cash prize for the winners of the Dota 2 Film Contest. First place takes home an impressive USD $25,000, while second and third take USD $10,000 and $5000 respectively. Everyone else in the top 10 will also walk away with some money in the pocket.

Winners are picked by the community, who will vote on which ones they enjoyed. We can expect to see submissions for the contest soon, so keep your eyes peeled on Reddit and Youtube.

We're looking forward to this year's entries. The short film contest has always produced incredibly quality stories from the community and we expect nothing less this year.
