After an intense Bo5 Grand Finals, Gen.G has secured the MSI 2025 title.

Chovy and Co. took down their rivals, T1, to claim their second MSI trophy.

Utter Dominance

After losing the LCK Cup at the start of the year, Gen.G entered the LCK Round 1-2 with vengeance. The extra motivation helped them secure a perfect 18-0 season. The sheer dominance was a declaration: "We are the best LCK team.”

That dominance continued into Road to MSI and MSI 2025 itself. A win in the upper final over T1 meant Gen.G entered the MSI Grand Final with a 22-game win streak.

Back-to-back Champions

Similar to their previous clash, the MSI 2025 battle between T1 and Gen.G went the distance. The bottom lane duo helped T1 secure the first game, but Gen.G equalised immediately. The teams exchanged the next two games, pushing the series to silver scrapes.

The final game saw Kiin’s Aatrox dominating the Rift, aided by Chovy’s exceptional performance on Aurora. The Game 5 win secured Gen.G back-to-back MSI championships.

Chovy is the MVP

Chovy has been a central piece in Gen.G’s wins since his arrival in 2021. The current best player in the world continues to be the pillar of the Gen.G squad — and today was no different.

Even in losses, Chovy's performance was top-notch. While Ruler and Kiin had amazing showings, his Game 5 Aurora earned him the MVP honors.

With the win, Chovy equals Faker’s MSI record. While it’s not enough to match the latter’s legacy, it further legitimizes Chovy as the best League player right now.

MSI 2025 Breaks Peak Viewership Record

A total of 3.42M viewers tuned in to watch T1 and Gen.G clash for the MSI title. This comfortably broke 2024’s 2.8M peak viewership record. The number serves as a testament to T1 and Faker’s enduring ability to drive massive interest.

What’s Next?

For Gen.G, their eyes will now be set on the Worlds 2025 title. Despite domestic dominance, the highest international glory has eluded them.

Faker and T1 will also look to complete their three-peat and further cement their GOAT status. But first, they must defend their title as League action continues at the Esports World Cup 2025, starting July 16th.
