Cloud9 Mid Laner Jang "EMENES" Min-Soo receives a competitive ruling by the LCS. This comes after EMENES was spotted sending toxic messages in a Korean solo queue game.

EMENES Violation

Three weeks ago, EMENES was under fire after sending toxic messages directed at EU Twitch streamer Spearshot. EMENES received lots of criticism from the League of Legends community. In a matter of moments, Cloud9's official X account made a post that they will be "addressing the matter internally".

Other major Twitch streamers and the community further criticized EMENES after he attempted to explain his reasons for being toxic. More details on the matter were posted in a previous article.

Facing the Consequences

The LCS found that EMENES violated the competitive rule set after making the toxic remarks. By the powers of Riot Games, they have fined EMENES $15,000 USD and he is required to complete an educational training course on professionalism. This is to be completed before the start of the 2024 LCS competitive season which will be next year in January-February.

The specific rule set that EMENES broke was the following:

Section 14.3.3: Behavior in LoL. All LCS Coaches and members of the Full Team Roster are subject to behavior checks and reviews for their behavior while playing LoL, including before being permitted to associate with a Team as an LCS Coach or as a member of the Full Team Roster. Team Members are expected to behave appropriately in-game and to avoid the use of derogatory, racist and offensive language as well as griefing and intentionally feeding.

Fortunately for EMENES and C9, this will not impact their Worlds run as EMENES will be allowed to participate without restrictions.

More information regarding EMENES' competitive ruling was posted on the LCS X account.
