After leaving PARIVISION, Filipe "Astini" Ribeiro announced that he will work as a temporary internal analyst for Heroic during DreamLeague Season 27. The news came from Astini hours before Heroic faces his former team.

We also learned that Clement "Puppey" Ivanov will coach PARIVISION during the event. This raises two key questions. Will Puppey finally return to pro Dota 2 as a full-time coach? And will Astini overcome his former teammates and one of the game’s biggest legends?

Astini Working With Heroic

Although this is great news for Heroic, the deal is temporary for now. Astini stated that the partnership is short-term, but depending on the team’s performance, it would not be surprising to see him take over as full-time coach later on.

Heroic started the season strong by winning FISSURE Universe: Episode 7 against MOUZ. Since then, however, their form has declined. MOUZ kept improving to the point of beating Team Spirit, while Heroic has been losing momentum.

Another Important Bit of Information

Alongside his temporary commitment to Heroic, Astini posted a tweet in Brazilian Portuguese to clarify something else. He revealed that he is already in talks with other teams about taking a head coach position.

Since DreamLeague was too close for a definitive move, he decided that accepting Heroic’s offer on a temporary basis was the best choice. This might even serve as a trial run. But he also confirmed that he will make a final decision regarding this topic in 2026.

Astini Versus Puppey

In the middle of all these changes, Heroic and PARIVISION faced each other in Round 2 of the DreamLeague Season 27 Group Stage. This matchup showed little immediate impact of Astini’s guidance as Heroic tested themselves against a strong Tier 1 team.

After two long games, PARIVISION won by sticking to the meta. With that victory, they now move on to face Team Falcons in a battle of the undefeated. Meanwhile, Heroic will face Pipsqueak+4 in Round 3.

What Comes Next

As the third round of the Group Stage begins, stronger teams will start to separate themselves from the pack. Astini will try to keep Heroic within reach of the Top 8, but for now the South American squad sits in the middle of the scoreboard.

On the other side, PARIVISION moves forward with confidence after proving their roster decisions were right and standing on the Top 5 of the Group Stage by the end of the second round. Puppey is still new to coaching, but he seems to be adapting well to his role.

Closing Thoughts

Astini’s departure from PARIVISION led to an early clash that showed how prepared his former teammates are. At the same time, there is only so much impact a new analyst can bring when joining a team only days before a major tournament like DreamLeague Season 27.

The Group Stage will continue until December 16. After that, we will see which teams survive the marathon and advance to the Playoffs. If you want to stay updated on Dota 2 roster moves, meta shifts and tournament coverage, check the news section on the Strafe website!
