Artour "Arteezy" Babaev released a statement on X announcing his plans in Dota 2. The North American carry will no longer be on the active roster of Shopify Rebellion and will be replaced by Crhistian "Pakazs" Savina in the upcoming Elite League Season 2.

In his statement Arteezy shared his plans for the future and how he intends to improve in Dota 2 after so many years in the scene.

Few players leave a team that's succeeding and Arteezy is no exception. His time with Shopify Rebellion was similar to how he did with Evil Geniuses. Mostly great online performance with lackluster LAN showings.

The team won the final DPC Tour in 2023 and took a second and third place spot in DreamLeague Seasons 21 and 19 respectively. If tournaments were purely online Shopify Rebellion might still have Arteezy.

Unfortunately, the team's LAN performances were lackluster apart from the Lima Major. The team failed to make it to the top eight at both the Bali and Birmingham Majors. At Riyadh Masters 2023 and The International 13, Shopify Rebellion was among the last-place teams in the events.

In 2024, Shopify Rebellion's performance in online events also suffered, and while they tried to mix things around by bringing in Andrei "skem" Ong and Ivan "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov, Arteezy still missed out on the two biggest tournaments of the year.

Arteezy plans to head to Europe to improve

In his announcement, Arteezy discussed his plans if he leaves Shopify Rebellion. His short-term goals include more streams on Twitch, along with being more involved with the Dota community and Shopify Rebellion.

We assume that means he will stick with the team until they find a suitable replacement but it's unclear what Arteezy's role with Shopify would be if not a player.

In the long term, the player intends to move to Europe and improve. That could be a good move for his career as Europe has dominated the Dota 2 world the last few years. The last six Internationals have been won by a European team, and so have the last two Riyadh Master events.

Concluding his announcement, Arteezy thanked Shopify Rebellion for being home to him and one of the best organizations to work for. For now, Artour remains a part of the organization and it will be interesting to see where his career goes next.
