Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your CSGO skills, the right map can make all the difference. From Dust II to Mirage, here are our top picks for maps that will help take your CSGO game to the next level!

Mirage

Mirage is one of the most popular maps in the game and one of the best for new players to master. This map offers a great balance between long-range and close quarters combat, allowing you to have complete control over your line of sight, mobility and positioning. Learning the various angles and pathways offered by this map can help give you an added edge - quite literally!

Train

Train is a great choice for those who want to familiarize themselves with the different angles, smokes and flashbangs. It provides a straightforward layout, with a few choke points that can be used to your advantage. The Terrorist spawn area offers plenty of options for aggressive players and makes it easier to find sites in rounds afterwards. However, there are also wide areas that allow players scope on CT spawn advantage, allowing you to practice both defensive and offensive playstyles.

Dust II

Of course, no CSGO map list is complete without Dust II. It’s one of the oldest and most iconic maps in the game, which makes it a great starting point! Along with its easy-to-learn layout, it offers plenty of angles and opportunities to practice different defensive and offensive strategies. The mid area can be utilized to catch unsuspecting enemies off guard and plant the bomb, while more experienced players can try to push out from CT spawn to gain an advantage. Its versatility makes it a great map for all skill levels!

Cache

Cache is a great medium-skill map with a layout that’s simple and easy to learn, but also provides a lot of depth. It offers plenty of avenues for players to practice their aim, grenade and tactical skills, without the complexity of other more advanced maps. This CSGO map is great for those just starting out, as well as experienced players who are looking to brush up on their fundamentals or explore different strategies. Cache can be overwhelming at first due to its size and multiple routes, so it’s worth taking some time to get used to the layout before you jump into ranked play!

Inferno

Another top pick for a CSGO map to learn quickly is Inferno. This popular classic offers an environment full of difficult angles and long, tight hallways that often require perfect smokes and flashbangs & grenades. Along with dust2, it’s one of the two most commonly used maps on the professional circuit and has been around since Counter-Strike 1.6. Players need a good understanding of spawns, basic strategies and positioning in order to do well on this map – all of which come from experience! Therefore, the more you play it, the better you will be at Inferno.

Anubis

Anubis is a relatively new addition to the game, introduced in early 2020. Set in an archaeological site in Egypt, the map features tight corridors, narrow passages, and multiple levels that provide plenty of opportunities for close-range combat. The unique layout of the map allows players to take advantage of its various corners and angles to ambush enemies and flank opponents. Additionally, the map's visuals are striking, with intricate hieroglyphics, ancient statues, and sandy ruins creating an immersive atmosphere. Overall, Anubis is a challenging and visually impressive map that adds to the diversity of gameplay options in CS:GO.
