What is VALORANT Agent Mastery?
VALORANT Patch 13.06 introduced the Agent Mastery system, rewarding agent playtime along two distinct tracks: Act and Lifetime Levels. Progression is accomplished through Mastery Points (MP) that is accrued from playing matches.
How does Agent Mastery work?
The system is simple. Play the agent in matches, earn MP, progress along both the Act Level and Lifetime Level tracks. Reach thresholds and unlock new cosmetic rewards.
What is Mastery Points?
Mastery Points (MP) is the new points introduced by Riot Games specifically for the Agent Mastery system. You earn MP by playing Competitive, Unrated, Swiftplay, Spike Rush, Team Deathmath, or Premier.
The earned MP is tallied for the agent you played during the session. The amount of MP earned is dictated by 3 factors:
- Length of match time
- Match outcome (Wins reward more)
- Performance (Strong individual performances rewards more)
However much MP you earn from a session is directly counted into both tracks simultaneously. Current observations see MP gains between 2500-4000 MP depending on the above-mentioned factors.
While in other gamemodes, only the duration is counted towards MP progression, in Competitive, a further bonus is granted for earning the MVP accolade.
- Win: 104 MP per minute played (1.3x win multiplier)
- Loss: 80 MP per minute played
- MVP: 112-120 MP per minute played
A community post ran the numbers and concluded individual performances in Competitive increased gains by as much as 10-15% for MVP over the standard MP rate for won games.
However, the swap over from the old Average Combat Score system to the new Performance Score system also means that the metric to gain those MVPs and, by extension the additional MP, is now different.
Check out our guide to understand everything you need to know about the new Performance Score system and how to keep stacking those MVPs.
How Many Mastery Points Do I Need to Level Up?
The amount you need increases per level. We have confirmed numbers for the major milestones.
| Act Level | Cumulative MP |
|---|---|
| Level 1 | 2000 MP |
| Level 2 | 10,500 MP |
| Level 4 | 30,300 MP |
| Level 7 | 71,900 MP |
| Level 10 | 132,400 MP |
Lifetime Levels
Lifetime Levels is the permanent portion of the Agent Mastery. They, as the name implies, reflect your lifetime play duration/experience on an agent. The value will not reset when an Act or Season concludes.
Progression along the Lifetime Levels track unlocks access to new Reward Tracks. Once available, the individual rewards can be purchased with Kingdom Credits (KC).
There are 6 Reward Tracks per agent; they are unlocked at Lifetime Levels 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 respectively.
Check our full list on every reward unlockable on the Lifetime Level track.
Lifetime Levels are not capped at 30 and you will be able to progress beyond that, although at present, there are no Reward Tracks beyond level 30.
Act Levels
Act Levels is the temporary portion of the Agent Mastery. Each agent has their own individual track consisting of 10 levels. This level is visible in Agent Select, during the Match Loading Screen, and on the Combat Report.
There are currently 3 milestones for the Act Levels track:
- Act Level 4 → Unlocks a colored Act Level border
- Act Level 7 → Unlocks portrait background upgrade
- Act Level 10 → Unlocks portrait background upgrade

It is important to note that while portrait upgrades are only up to Act Level 10 currently, overlevelling is enabled as long as the Act continues. This mean you may be seeing Act Level 20, 30, even 40 in your games at some point!
Agent IDs
Agent IDs are Agent-specific customizable profiles that allow you to show off your Agent Mastery your way. With a base account card showcasing the Agent and Lifetime Level already, several empty modules remain customizable.
Unlocked through the Lifetime Level track, customization options include:
- Mastery Poses
- Backgrounds
- Frames
- Agent Quote
- Tracked Statistics
You are automatically given several Tracked Statistics by default to equip on your Agent IDs. They are: Number of Act Level 10s, Hours Played, Games Won, Assists, Damage, and Kills.
The Lifetime Level track gives further Tracked Statistics including: KD, MVP Count, Win Rate, Aces, Clutches, First Blood, and Headshots.
This ensures both the casuals and one-tricks have appropriate rewards for their efforts to customize and show-off their hours spent.
