Monte Esports has officially announced the departure of Volodymyr "Woro2k" Veletnyuk, a key figure who has been with the team since its inception back in July 2022.

During his time with Monte, the Ukrainian played a crucial role as the primary awper and team captain. His contributions have made a lasting impact on the team's history, highlighted by memorable performances at major tournaments such as reaching the quarterfinals at BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, securing third place at ESL Pro League Season 18, and clinching victory at ESL Challenger at DreamHack Winter 2023.

This announcement comes amidst a series of recent changes for Monte, who have welcomed Martin "STYKO" Styk and Ali "hAdji" Haïnouss (stand-in) recently into their lineup.

"We part ways with woro2k, a true Legend of Monte. Sniper, leader, captain. You will always be on the first page of our history. We will always remember Paris Major and the dream you gave to our gang. See you on the server, Vova! Forever a part of Monte Gang"

What's next for Woro2k?

Moreover, the team faced serious setbacks with the departures of Alexander "br0" Bro and Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev early in 2024, leading to a decline in their world ranking. Despite managing a few notable runs in a few online events, their overall results suffered considerably.

Monte did not disclose Woro2k's replacement, but a recent post on X from the team hinted at imminent replacements from Poland and Ukraine.

Woro2k's future destination remains shrouded in uncertainty. While the player hinted on X that he had recently signed with a new team, the reality of this statement is yet to be confirmed.

CS2 Major Revenue Share Changes Are Pushing Organizations Away from Counter-Strike

Valve’s new CS2 Major revenue share ties sticker income to VRS and final placement, removing capsule‑style payouts and concentrating money among top finishers. The result: higher volatility for clubs that relied on sticker cheques, early roster cuts like Gaimin Gladiators, and a narrower field of sustainable CS2 organizations unless the payout model changes.
