As 2024 closes, the stage is set for another thrilling year of VALORANT competition. Following Shopify Rebellion’s dominant performance at the Game Changers Championship 2024, the 2025 VCT Game Changers NA season promises to be even more electrifying. With a revamped format, more broadcast days, and increased prize money. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2025 season.

A Revitalized Competitive Format

The 2025 season introduces a format designed for accessibility, competition, and excitement. Operated by Raidiant, a women-led tournament organizer, the new structure provides:

    • Increased Broadcast Days: From 34 days in 2024 to over 60 in 2025.
    • Streamlined Qualification Path: A quicker and more efficient route for top teams to reach the championship.
    • Kickoff Tournament: A non-circuit event to help teams ease into the season with a $10,000 prize pool.
    • Expanded Prize Pool: $150,000 up for grabs across the season.
  • Year-Long: Raidiant Academy
  • Monthly tournaments with a $2,000 prize pool per event.
  • Focused on nurturing new talent, both players and broadcast professionals.

2025 Tournament Schedule

The 2025 season is packed with exciting tournaments and stages to keep players and fans engaged throughout the year. Here’s a breakdown:

January: Kickoff Tournament

  • Open Qualifiers: January 28-29, January 31-February 1
  • Main Event: February 11-16
  • Prize Pool: $10,000

February to May: Stage 1

  • Open Qualifiers:
    • Qualifier #1: March 4-5, 7-8
    • Qualifier #2: April 1-2, 4-5
  • Swiss Stage: April 14 - May 16 (seven rounds over five weeks).
  • Main Event: May 23-25, May 30-June 1.
  • Prize Pool: $65,000 and Game Changers Championship Circuit Points.

June to October: Stage 2

  • Open Qualifiers:
    • Qualifier #3: July 1-2, 5-6
    • Qualifier #4: July 15-16, 18-19
  • Swiss Stage: July 28 - September 10 (seven rounds over five weeks).
  • Main Event: October 7-12.
  • Prize Pool: $65,000 and Game Changers Championship Circuit Points.

Kickoff Format

Designed to minimize downtime between seasons while allowing roster experimentation, the Kickoff Tournament is a great starting point for teams.

Format:

  • A 32-team GSL group stage, with 8 Groups of 4 Teams each.
  • Top 2 from each group advance to the playoffs.
  • These 16 teams will play in a Double Elimination Bracket. Top 8 teams will advance to the Main Event.
  • The Main Event will again be a double elimination bracket, with all matches being Bo3.
  • The Lower Bracket Finals and Grand Finals will be Bo5.

Stage 1 & 2 Format

The regular season will feature two identical stages, each with its own $65,000 prize pool and Game Changers Championship Circuit Points.

Stage 1 & 2 Open Qualifiers:

  • Open Qualifier #1, #2, #3, #4 (32 Teams Each):
    • GSL Group Stage: Top 2 teams from each group advance to the Playoffs.
    • Playoffs: Double Elimination Bracket for 16 teams.
    • The top 8 teams advance to the Swiss Stage.
  • All four Open Qualifiers will follow the same format, so a total of 16 teams will each advance to the Swiss Stage of Stages 1 and 2.

Swiss Stage:

  • 16 teams compete in seven rounds over five weeks:
    • Week 1: Round 1.
    • Week 2: Round 2.
    • Week 3: Round 3.
    • Week 4: Rounds 4 & 5.
    • Week 5: Rounds 6 & 7.

Main Event:

  • Eight teams compete in a double-elimination bracket over ten days.
  • Matches are Bo3, with Lower Bracket Finals and Grand Finals as Bo5.

Where to Watch

Matches will air on the official VALORANT Americas channels on Twitch and YouTube, with approved co-streaming options. Radiant will also provide a secondary stream, which will be observer only.
