VALORANT's V26 Act 4 kicks off with Patch 13.00—one of the most content-rich updates in recent memory. From sweeping Sentinel buffs and Initiator cooldown reductions to a brand-new map and limited-time mode, here's everything you need to know.

Sentinels Get a Major Boost

The headline of Patch 13.00 is a series of targeted buffs across the entire Sentinel class, aimed at making them more effective at punishing disorganized attack strategies and anchoring sites alone.

  • Cypher: Trapwire windup reduced from 0.9s to 0.7s, making it faster to set up defensively

  • Killjoy: Turret rate of fire increased by 50%, Nanoswarm duration extended from 4s to 5s, and Alarmbot movement speed increased by 50%

  • Veto: Interceptor reclaim cooldown slashed from 30s to 20s; Crosscut usable area expanded from 24m to 30m and arming time halved from 1.5s to 0.75s

  • Sage: Self-Heal over time doubled from 50 to 100 HP

  • Deadlock: GravNet cooldown reduced from 60s to 50s

These changes collectively signal Riot's intent to rebalance the tactical loop, where previously attackers could reliably steamroll through sites with little consequence.

Initiator Cooldowns Reduced

Riot is also giving Initiators more late-round strategic agency by reducing the wait time between ability uses. The signature ability cooldowns for Sova, Fade, Skye, Breach, and KAY/O have all been reduced from 60s to 50s.

Additionally, Gekko's ability cooldowns after reclaiming his buddies drop from 20s to 15s. The goal is to strike a middle ground between the old cooldowns and the aggressive nerfs introduced in Patch 11.08.

Omen Audio & Agent VO Overhaul

Omen's Shrouded Step audio has been updated to improve clarity, addressing cases where nearby enemies simply couldn't hear the teleport during chaotic rounds.

Beyond Omen, Riot is standardizing ability voice lines across the roster, removing lines from a large number of agents including Killjoy, Jett, Reyna, Viper, Sova, Fade, and many more.

New voice line interactions have also been added: Sage and Viper get lines for Summit, while Miks & Gekko and Jett & Phoenix receive new conversation lines.

New Map: Summit Joins the Rotation

The patch introduces Summit, a new 5v5 Spike mode map set in a Radiant training academy in the mountains of China. The map features three lanes and two sites, with unique droppable walls that can reshape the battlefield mid-round.

Map Pool Changes

With Summit's arrival, the competitive map pool has been updated:

Retake: New Game Mode

Retake is Patch 13.00's new limited-time offering—a fast-paced 3v3 Spike mode where the Spike is already planted at the start of each round. One team defends the planted Spike while the other races to defuse it under a ticking clock.

Competitive & Ranked Updates

Patch 13.00 brings two important ranked changes. First, the RR calculation has been adjusted so consistently winning players—especially those at Immortal and above—feel less stuck on their climb.

Second, on PC only, matchmaking now ensures the average rank of both teams is within one sub-tier of each other, greatly improving lobby balance.

Bandit Gets More Reliable

The Bandit receives a small but meaningful tune-up to make it more competitive outside of pistol rounds:

  • Recovery improved from 0.45 to 0.40

  • Tap efficiency increased from 3 to 4

  • Pitch recoil at max reduced from 4 to 3

Riot states they want to keep the Bandit viable relative to the Ghost and Sheriff without drastically shifting its mechanical identity.

Client Update: Inbox Feature

A new Inbox system is now live in the VALORANT client, giving players one central place to track non-urgent notifications. At launch, it covers gifting updates, Premier promotion alerts, RR refund notices, reporter feedback, and Act Introduction messages.

Note that a known issue may send duplicate RR refund notifications via both Inbox and the existing popup. Riot confirms this does not result in a double refund.

Premier Stage V26A4

For PC players in Premier, Stage V26A4 matches begin July 1. Teams need a Premier Score of at least 600 to qualify for Playoffs on August 16. Contender and Invite Division teams qualify based on standings placement, with Playoffs spread across two days—first round on August 15, finals on August 16.

VALORANT Patch 13.00 touches nearly every corner of the game. The Sentinel and Initiator buffs breathe new life into roles that have struggled to keep pace with the aggression-heavy meta. V26 Act 4 sets a strong foundation for what could be one of the most strategically rich Acts in recent VALORANT history.
