Marcelo "coldzera" David has ruled out a return to competitive Counter-Strike 2. During a Twitch stream, the 31-year-old said he does not miss competing professionally, pointing to the stress and lack of a personal life that come with the routine.

coldzera thought he would miss competing after stepping away, but said he ended up realizing the opposite.

“I thought I was going to miss it. I’ll tell you, if there’s one thing I don’t miss, it’s playing competitively. I don’t miss it at all. [...] I really won’t [come back]. It’s too stressful. You have no life.”

Coldzera’s Last Official Match Was in March

coldzera reached the peak of his career between 2016 and 2017, when HLTV named the Brazilian the best player in the world in back-to-back years. In 2016, he was also a key part of the Major-winning teams at MLG Columbus with Luminosity and ESL One Cologne with SK Gaming, earning MVP honors at both events.

Since then, however, the veteran has not reached the same level of team success. He went on to play for organizations including MIBR, FaZe, 00NATION, Legacy, and ODDIK, with his recent years marked by more modest results and campaigns outside contention for the biggest international titles.

coldzera has been without a permanent team since November 2025, when he left ODDIK. In the following months, he competed in tournaments and qualifiers with Fake do Biru, including the BetBoom RUSH B! Summit and BetBoom Circuit X Pantanal Cuiabá 2026.

His most recent official appearance came on March 28 at FERJEE In House 2026 with MAGNA. The team lost 2-0 to ShindeN, and coldzera has not played another official match since.
