Counter-Strike's summer break is officially over, as BLAST has revealed the opening bracket for the BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 Closed Qualifier, and the pairings are stacked with big names right out of the gate.

The First Round Is Set

The online stage runs from July 21 to July 26, with 32 teams battling on European servers before the top eight advance to the LAN Finals at BLAST Studios in Malta from July 30 to August 2. As always, BLAST's bounty twist is back: lower-seeded teams pick their opponents from the higher-ranked pool, and every upset comes with a cash bonus attached.

What To Expect From Season Two

This is the second full BLAST Bounty season of the 2026 CS2 calendar, landing right after a summer full of roster shuffling across the top of the scene (check out our CS2 Off-Season Roster Tracker). Team Vitality walks in as the favorite, sitting atop the world rankings with the same core that carried them through 2025's biggest trophies. Team Spirit and Team Falcons round out the top three, both dangerous enough to make anyone nervous in a bounty format where beating a favorite pays out big.

Brazilian fans have plenty to root for too, with FURIA sitting comfortably inside the top ten seeds and looking to build on a strong run through the first half of the year. GamerLegion, Astralis, and MOUZ all bring their own storylines, whether it's a coaching change, a fresh signing, or the pressure of proving last season's LAN run wasn't a fluke.

Off-season moves will also shape how this qualifier plays out. The MongolZ enter with a fully revamped roster built around new signings, ready to debut under real pressure.

Vitality still carries the weight of an insane trophy history. Still, it is worth remembering that Team Falcons may be starting a history of their own after finally breaking through to win the IEM Cologne Major, a title that ended years of near-misses for NiKo.

With Majors and other Tier 1 events looming later in the year, teams will treat every round here as a chance to build momentum before the stakes get even higher. Expect a tight series, a handful of genuine upsets given how deep the bounty pool is this time, and at least one favorite walking away with an early scare on the road to Malta.

Team Vitality remains one of the most influential and well-known esports organizations to date. The Paris-based org fields over 20 esports teams in various esports, though their immensely impressive results in Counter-Strike take center stage.  Being one of the organizations present at Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris, we managed to speak with Fabien "Neo" Devide, Co-Founder and CEO of the Hive, just after an interview with Mike McCabe, COO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, at the opening press conference at EWC. Neo provided a ton of insight into the organization's participation at this year's edition of EWC in Paris. He expressed his desire for the org to perform to the highest standards, but also highlighted that rivalry is key to grow the ecosystem. Additionally, Neo gave strong opinions on the growth of mobile esports following last year's Vitality's takeover and merger with Indonesian side Bigetron, stressing the need for innovation and following ideas in the east, as much as the west.
